Ian,
Your car looked great this morning. It was on the truck when mine was being collected to head back to Germany.
Enjoy it!
Jon
The two cars that Strasse had were both exported back to Holland, how many more are returning ?
Is this a good thing or a bad thing for us all?[8|]
It depends upon whether you are a buyer or a seller.
If you are looking for a 964RS there is a reasonable choice --- but where are the 993RS ?

If any of you have the April 2003 edition of Porsche & 911 world to hand, he signal green car is for sale in the classifieds......described as a 964 RSR, Viper green M003 with 10,937km....up for ÂŁ39,995 from a private collection in London.
In the same issue Autoclassica have a Minty (colour) CS with 46 clicks up for ÂŁ38,995 !
Interesting how the prices have only recently gone crazy and secondly how the signal green car has only managed 3km in 5 years...is that a good thing? []
I think a lot of cars have had a fair bit spent on them --- and we are now 5 years on.
My personal view on mileage is that undriven cars are simply unreliable.
2000 miles a year is in my personal view a good starting point and driven at least once every couple of weeks seems to keep clutches smooth, discs and brakes free of corrosion, suspension supple, heater and starter motors spinning and bores oiled. The optimiser on the battery just gets it going !
And which of us would not enjoy every second of doing at least this mileage ?
Des --- how could you forget me ? Maritime Blue CS --- Simon's old car --- common as muck these maritime CS' !
And finally, the only other Maritime CS I saw for sale was one in Hertfordshire, looked after by JZM and advertised in the Sunday Times almost a year ago.
Other than the car advertised by Thomas Schmitz which seem to have been arriving for ages --- not used in something like the last 11 years ? Will be given a full service prior to delivery ? But still looks a very interesting car.
As an aside, the Kermit car is not on Thomas' web site, but is on Mobile.de as being sold by him ?
On reflection, this may be the Autofarm Maritime Blue car to which Simon refers....

The Thomas Schmitz car (below) has now arrived in the UK so I am doing my bit to reverse the UK's 964RS trade deficit. This one came in on the same (ill fated) trailer that took jon.b's back to Germany.
It is extremely tidy and has had a full Porsche dealer service, new tyres, new fluids, new pads etc a few weeks ago and is here being checked over for me by JAZ and notwithstanding not moving for a while (it was in dehumidified storage though) it appears to be healthy. Only reason I haven't actually taken delivery is it's not registered and the spring gate on the gearbox needs some work.
I should say thanks to a number on here who contacted me after the original post and special thanks to Vic Cohen for general wise counsel in getting it all to come together.

As you can see the wheels are unmarked and the seats and belts etc are in very good nick.
To my way of thinking the mileage at 24k is high enough that I can use it properly without destroying the value completely (assuming I don't hit anything!). Frankly it is a tool and it's meant to be used.

By the way, why was the green cup car (on the "ill fated" trailer ) going back?
Not in the know on that I'm afraid.
It is a cup though so has seen some use...
Having said that overall it looked nice and the colour did look stunning - far nicer IMHO than the 997GT3RS viper green.

Now you are really spoiling us with those pics Ian!!![] Will it make it to Donington perhaps in 2 weeks time?[]
Would be even better with the edition of a nice Momo suede steering wheel perhaps?[]
Funny you should mention it but Momo is being fitted - the nasty RS steering wheel is the one "original feature" I can live without.
Donnington may a bridge too far for the first outing and more practically for domestic reasons as it's a Sunday but it's not impossible. It's a long way from here though.
In practice the Bedford evening do 20th June may be the first gentle introduction.

The paint is completely perfect mainly because it was repainted after a ding on the left rear wheel. No panels were replaced but rather than match the paint it was very well repainted with no expense spared it would seem.

Quite lovely.
And agreed on the mileage.
I'm intrigued by the Imola '94 signatures --- is this under the bonnet ?
Interesting also that you have the 90 litre tank --- I used more than a full 77 litre tank of fuel at Croft last week, so very useful.
It's also very nice to see some good images of what an unmolested car should look like --- though I have taken my fire extiguishers out.
What's wonderful is, they all / each have their own story to tell, because they have always been very special cars --- much more special than today's GT3RS IMHO.
As for u Jason see abt the Hotdog at Spa and i might be lighter than u think ..............did nt produce the right kinda go faster though!
Green car owned by a guy who is here and The Fatherland , came here for specialist work and was kinda cheap way back i gather from chatting with TS at Spa

The signatures are on the roof and there's only one I can identify... but it's a good one.
I will probably take the extinguishers out too. Like life jackets on plane I'd be amazed if a handheld fire extinguisher saved anyone, anywhere, ever.
