Nearly bit me

I took the initial Italian suggestion to reference their loose interpretation of the rules of the road rather than their driving ability.

I don't remember it being that bad when I drove there though we did plan our route out of the city only to find we had planned to turn right against a one-way sign pretty much as soon as we left the hotel so we had to wing it. We drove past pretty much every site we'd seen in the previous 2 days and at one point between the tables ova pavement cafe and nobody batted an eyelid [:D][:D]

Just catching up with some of this thread - a few of us just returned from an excellent day out at Prodrive where we used their various test handling facilities and also the 2 skidpans they have. One is circular, the other in a straight line. I would highly recommend the event to anyone who wants to learn how to induce and balance their Porsche in a controlled slide, prolonged drift, or fishtailing situation.

Another 911 driver talking sense! [;)][:D] One day you "teenagers" may become men!

Hmm. Maybe. I doubt I'd be able to shag as many women or win as many barfights as you though, even with a 911.

Do you realise how big a pillock you come across as repeatedly posting on the 944 forum how great the 911 is (even with the smileys)?

While I'm sure there are a few the majority on here don't want a 911 and it isn't just a waiting room for 911 ownership. I can pretty much guarantee your 996 Turbo doesn't impress anyone - to me it says "couldn't afford a 997 Turbo and isn't enough of a connoisseur to have bought a 993 Turbo". If that offends then don't let the door hit you in the backside as you leave the 944 area.[;)]

Apologies!, ur right, have gone too far! Will stop[8|] and no you don't affend me!. If I give abit of stick out then I expect to take some back!
PS, New 997TT on order![:D] Your right about the 993 Turbo, I used to have one when they first came out and should have kept it, however I use my car everyday for work so not a sensible option for me. I due still love then though!

Then by all means stick around and join in; we have nothing against 911 fans - I've had 3 myself though I don't really have any desire for another one at the moment.

Many people here chose the car they have regardless of age and value (see the thread discussing possible modern alternatives for an indication as to why) and those that didn't won't warm to someone appearing to crow about being able to afford something they would love to buy but don't have the wherewithall.

Money doesn't impact on my love of cars! A series 1 landrover had a place in my garage not that many years ago[:D] and I do love the 968. You also don't need to have a wallet the size of Fort Knox to buy a 911. People shouldn't assume that abit of banter about one model over another has some hidden message about money, income or spending power. PCGB is all inclusive and joins people together who have a genuine love of the margue!

A situation very well defused. You've just gone up a notch in my book following this post.

p.s. 997 turbo on order... thats another notch, remember the mistake you made with the great 993 and don't make that same mistake again. I feel that the 997 turbo and GT3 are the next great classics. Worry that the fantastic engineering and four wheel drive in the new turbo might make it feel a bit tame for many enthusiasts though?

Anyone who was at the Haynes test track yesterday and watched me driving round is more then welcome to comment.

This sort of willy waving really makes me laugh. Us 944 guys that can do the business where it counts don't need to go around making such silly comments.

Stick around mate ur r providing good entertainment (sorry Fen I am enjoying ur slap downs too much what with this forum and titanic it is better then Eastenders).

Thanks Neil. People with self confidence just smile and don't take offence, its just banter. A few years ago when I was doing the shell oils rally championship I used to swop times with 6r4's and Sierra Cosworths driving a mk2 BDA escort. God I have gone off backwards enough times![:D] Its not what you drive but how you drive it! Some people just don't see that though![8|]

Now you have me drooling [8D] I miss my old Metro Gti :ROFLMAO:

A true classic, one of the very few cars designed to get lighter and lighter each year (as the arches gradually rusted and fell off , on purpose I imagine [;)])

But did you spend ages replacing the rear radius arms every five minutes?

I had a go in a 6R4 once (Clubman spec) - a memorable experience.

Ooops, nearly forgot to bite

Awesome car, right up there with the GT3 as most desirable car I would ever want. You're a very lucky man [8D]

........almost as much torque as my 944s 650Nm too :ROFLMAO: (if we forget about overboost, which we will do or it will ruin my glib comment)
