New Carrera T Order

Would of popped along today but have my daughter for the weekend plus had to come into work this morning :(

Will have to check out the R31 club details, when is club night? R16 is on Wednesday nights which isn't good for me and most of their events seem to clash with other stuff I have going on, so only been to a couple of events in nearly 2 yrs.

With ref to the 911T review in this months Porsche Post, I found this vid far more entertaining https://www.topgear.com/car-news/supercars/video-porsche-911-carrera-t-vs-gt3-touring also love the GT3 Touring, both cars right up my street, manuals with no overblown spoilers etc.

No worries about the unhappy bank account then?-couldn't get a more public outing of 911T purchase after the Porsche Post article and association with ladie's[;)] shoes!

Am intrigued by this Porsche Post issue. I only rejoined PCGB on Friday, so hope that I can get my hands on a copy of the edition featuring the new Carrera T... [:)]

Hi Fudgie. I had a good time today at the R31 coffee morning. I believe that their regular meet is also on a Wednesday evening, with the next meet due in about 10 days time. The meeting place/s are nearer to home for me compared to where R16 meet.

I've seen that video 2 or 3 times previously - very good. And I agree, the 991.2 GT3 with Touring Pack is awesome and probably my dream car. If only I could buy one... [8|]

You may get one with your new membership pack. If that comes with last month’s edition of the magazine then ring Club office and ask for Maxine or Chris Sweeting. If you tell them that I have suggested you get in touch as a new member and T customer, I am sure they would be happy to send you one out.

Thanks, Rob. Not that my excitement needs any assistance! [;)]

That's a good review. And the anticipation builds...!

I look forward to hearing about and seeing yours.

Cheers,

Simon

Have you considered the rear steering as an option? I presume it is available on the Carrera T. I have it on my 4S it does make a difference in handing and manoverabilty for the better.

Hi Carlton. I did consider rear-axle steering. I have it on my current 2017 Panamera 4. It is available on the T. In the end I decided against it. It would add weight & £££s and I'm not convinced that I'd notice enough of a difference to justify the option. [:)]

Cheers,

Simon

Latest I heard was a CP08 build completion date of 19th March, possibly arriving at the OPC a couple of weeks later...

Although I have heard today of someone else who's ordered a T, and their build date has been put back... [:(]

Mine was scheduled to enter production earlier this week and I have heard nothing to the contrary. I was told to expect delivery before the end of this month... Porsche Centre were last in touch a couple of weeks ago and all was well.

Glad it hasn't arrived for 1st March delivery, am not sure it would be my first choice for driving round in the snow! My wife and I are engaged in an active battle for the keys to our 2002 Nissan Almera which is proving the winter car of choice with its recent new tyres! It was my late father in law's car and we are saving it for Maddie to learn to drive in later this year!

Delighted to say that I collected my 991 Carrera T yesterday morning from the very nice people at Porsche Centre Bolton.

To say that I am pleased with it would be a dramatic understatement. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. The little details on the car help make it special - the dark metallic grey mirrors match the wheels, the rear grill and even the P O R S C H E badge on the back. I've not driven it very far yet but first impressions are very positive indeed, it is really lovely to drive. The manual gearbox is much better than I was expecting or than reviews would suggest, it's a positive and short shift. Ride comfort is superb and the technology all seems to work well. Very, very happy!

Thanks to Phil Graham for welcoming me to the Register.

Great news, Rob! Many congratulations! I see that you have great taste and also ordered Racing Yellow!

Just got home from the office, so about to enjoy a fresh coffee and your photos! [:)]

Thanks gents.

Will certainly post on the owners thread.

Simon, I think you will pleased when you get your keys!

Cheers, Rob. You are certainly whetting my appetite with that image of your Racing Yellow Carrera T! Hoping to pick mine up on April 6th and hoping to get an update from my OPC on Monday. [:)]

It is an utterly brilliant and engaging road car, I rather suspect you will love it!

Delighted to hear that you're so pleased with it! [:)] Roll on my collection date! [;)]

Saw my first Carrera T at OPC this week. Black with yellow accents (please note Jimmy no sneezing!), great spec as well. Looked very nice. New owner certainly very happy! However not impressed with OPC presentation of the car which should have been throughly valeted. Buyer didn’t seem to notice as he had the new car rose-tinted specs on!!
