New members welcome and photos

Well not a new member but a return to 997 ownership.

Following the sale of my 997 Turbo S I went to a 991 4S, great car but decided to change that and got the chance of a GT4 so had to have it.

I had a couple of other Porsches, a 911 3.2 Targa and a 968 Sport, the later one I couldn't entirely bond with , nice car but I kept hankering for something 911, walked into a local dealer and he had the car below 997 gen 1 4s Cab manual. This started me looking at 997 's again and the decision manual or PDK, PDK would have meant Gen 2, this started me to think if Gen 2 why not go GTS then if going to the cost of GTS why not a 991, in the end for what I want it for the Gen 1 Manual won so a quick deal with the 968 and here it is already for the summer, couldn't wait till collecting tomorrow just had to take a couple of snaps on the old iPhone while it's having a bit of polishing.

Congratulations on the new motor Steve - just the right colour too.

It's good you'll be re-joining our Register, but don't forget to update your Club record details so you can receive our newsletters.

Hope to see you both out and about again very soon.

Regards

Hi all

After 8yrs of owning a 355 and 360, I'm now back in a Porsche.

Picked up my new 997Turbo yesterday - what an amazing car, absolutely love it.

Thanks to Peter Morgan for a very comprehensive inspection and Darren and Joel at RSJ, great service and the car is immaculate - really pleased.

Roll on the dry weather

Cheer

Afternoon Guys, Im Matt, ive just recently joined the club.

This is my "05 C2 I bought at the end of last summer. Bought the car in standard C2 guise an have since gone to work at putting my own Spin on things. A bit different to the norm but i love it and the 997 is by far the best car i have owned to date.

Thanks a lot man glad you like it. The Wheels are a Custom forged 3 piece LHR for Rotiform in California. Super concave faces with 1 inch lips, face mounted and hidden hardware.

The camber front and rear is all natural from where the car lowers down on the Air Suspension, the lower the rear goes the more negative camber it gains. In the pics it is at its lowest height, i have my drive height set up around 40mm lower than standard so the driving characteristics are very similar to when i got the car. (It came on 40mm H&R lowering springs)

looks superb, especially in the photo at dusk, by the roadside.

'planted'to the road like it was a part of nature ;-)

Hi Paul, Hi Matt,

Stunning cars both of you! Welcome to the Register and I look forward to seeing you and your cars at future events.

Clive

Hello all - new member of the 997 Register checking in!

After 2 years in a 981 Cayman S, I took delivery of this beauty on Saturday from Porsche Centre Bolton. Initial impressions are very positive indeed, it provides everything I was looking for as a driving experience. The service provided by Bolton has been impeccable and the car is in beautiful condition. I look forward to catching up with the Register and will be at the Silverstone Classic with the car next month. Best wishes to all 997 register members.

Hope to be at the next R3 meeting.

good and very wise Purchase there Rob, must be a 997 and chairman thing [:)] [:D]

Although I think Peter let his yellow peril go a while back now..

Thanks Gary, am really pleased with it so far. Think Peter got his Cayman before I got mine and that was May 2014! Funnily enough, I bought my 996 in 2005 after a ride in Peter's!

Congratulations Rob,

A good choice - one of the very best 997 models IMHO and the white coachwork sets it off very well. [:)]

Regards,

Hello,

My name is Hans, I' am Dutch and I live in the east of the country near the German border.

I have a 993 C4 1996 and a 997 Turbo Mk1 2007.

The 993 is in original state. The 997 is tuned by 9FF in Germany

I do all maintenance and repairs myself. Replaced on 997: plugs, bobines, oil, oil filter, poly belt, inner and outer steering rods, centre radiator, brake fluid, front brake pads, front differential shaft sealing rings.

I hope I can learn from and contribute to the PCGB

Best regards

Hans
