New members welcome and photos

Hi All

I’m new to the club having recently acquired my first Porsche.

About 12 months ago I decided to make a lifelong dream a reality, so the saving and search for a 911 began. I wanted a car to keep and that I would enjoy driving for years to come; my daily drivers have been autos for some time, but my Porsche had to be manual. And while I was at it, a convertible would be fun!

An early to mid 2000s manual convertible certainly narrowed the field, but I still had to decide on model, trim, spec - I had accepted I may have limited choice when it came to the colour. However, in the end, it was colour that made my decision for me. Once I saw a manual speed yellow 997.1 Carrera S cabriolet for sale I knew I had found my car.

The car is great fun, I look forward to every opportunity to take it for a spin and expect this will include numerous club events

I attach below a photo of the car, taken between rain showers during this weekend's drive around the mountains of North Wales

Cheers

Geoff

Thanks Sparky, the car could do with a clean after the weekend but I'm loving every minute in it

Hi Guys

Although not a new member, I am a ‘Newbie’ owner of a 911 C2S. I previously owned a Cayman S and missed the Porsche experience when I stupidly defected to BMW ! However i’m Now back with a super ‘06 911 and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Look forward to meeting fellow 997 owners. Any living in and around the Towcester area ?

Greetings all.

I have just moved over from the 930 Turbo forum. Since selling my lovely old Targa Turbo i have now just picked up a 2008, 997.1 Turbo Cabriolet.

Wow what a beast, the 930 was awesome but this Turbo takes it to another level. Can't wait to get some serious miles covered.

Regards

TIM

Bonjour. Just become a member. Have had my 997.2 C2S for over 2 years now having previously owned a Cayman for the 4 years prior. I've been active over on the 911uk forum and meets and looking to broaden my horizons.

Here's my first attempt at posting an image. It's never as simple as it should be. (It worked on the second attempt!).

If it's worked, then you will see my car as I was using launch control for the first time. This was taken at the old Chimay race track in Belgium on a recent trip to Spa.

My first Porsche picked up this weekend from Dove House. 997.2 Carrera. Manual. No Sports Chrono. No PASM. No PSE. Just pure.........

Hi,

Just become a member.

I love cars and do regular track days with my Mx5 Turbo.

I have owned a 968 Cab before but now a 997 Gen2 4S as shown in picture.

Love it to bits but a little noisy in the cabin, probably due to the 305 tyres on the back[:)]
