New members welcome and photos

Hi ,First post

Just got myself back into 911 ownership after many many years of being away (last one was a 1986 Carrera targa ).

I've now got a 997 Carrera 4s convertible and loving it.

I find the porsche sports exhaust just a bit too subdued , I've done few searches on the internet, and fitting the Hayward and Scott bypass pipes

seems to be the 'fix' [:)]

Just wanting to know opinions (or pointing in the right direction) if there are any down sides to this , I don't want it to become tiresome

on a long drive.

many thanks Paul

Heya and welcome back!!

I recently went with the rear box delete and by-pass pipes from Topgear. I am happy with the results and happier that it didn't cost a fortune to do, also on the plus side it's easily reversible. I hear that the Hayward & Scott mod is very similar with both being significantly cheaper alternatives to Sharkwerks.

I have a 2010 C4S. With PSE on the mod is very noticeable but nowhere as loud as a de-cat or full system mod. Even with the PSE off the by-pass adds a nice rasp to the note which is more subdued but still rather tasty in my opinion. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. Have fun!

Hi Monkeynutz ,

Thank you for the quick reply, that sounds ideal.....I have no problem with a nice exhaust sound when its wanted, but not when you just want to cruise down a motorway

that sound like an ideal mod then .

already having fun with it .........would just like some more :)

Hi all,

I've been lurking on here for a few months so it's about time to introduce myself.

I finally found my car about a month ago, and absolutely love it.

Its a late 2007 Carrera 4S Basaltblack, with black heated leather, sport chrono, sports exhaust, full electric adaptive sports seats, short shift, turbo alloys.

The only thing I should have done was bought one sooner!!!

looking forward to a long and enjoyable ownership experience, and this forum is a crucial part of that so thank you all.

over Xmas I have taken all the wheels off mine and taken the plastic body trims off to give them a good clean. Painted the hubs whilst at it as where looking bit tired, no sleeping till Spring.

Hi ,

I am new to the club , R13 region and would like to introduce myself.

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum after joining PCGB in May '18. Looking forward to getting more engaged in 2019.

Attached is a shot if my 2008 C4S Cab, gen 1 manual.

Cheers!

Hi all,

Here's my new 997 which is replacing my 996.

Bough her with a damaged wing and door, so am trying to locate the previous owner in an attempt to recover some of her history.

If anybody recognises her I'd be grateful. Reg is EU05 FSS.

Black 997's are taking over ;-)

I do like the Lobster claws.

Hi All,

Joined very recently but I’ve had my blue 997 for four years and already done 30k miles in her. She has just clicked over 100k so she has been very enjoyed over the years. Full Porsche service histor, my favourite colour and classic 997 lobster alloys.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at the events.

Andrew
