Hi!

I'm a new member to Porsche Club GB. I have owned my 997.1 for the last 18 months. It is a Market Launch Vehicle with 762 code on it's options list. I haven't seen another in the UK. Would anyone know how many of these were produced and if any other members of the club have one, as i would be interest to find out more about this spec.

Hello all!

Bought first Porsche last month and looking forward to attending some of the events in the near future! It’s a 2005 (55 reg) 997 C4s with turbo wheels.

still got to get my own plate on it but safe to say I’m loving driving it! Anyway heres a snap!

Welcome! That's a very nice looking car and a great choice for your first 911. Loads of events this Summer but a personal favourite of mine is the World Endurance Championship at Silverstone. Enjoy the miles of smiles :)

I would like to go and see the WEC, it was on my to do list last year but for one reason or another didnt attend! However now I’ve got a porker of my own I’ll have to get it done [:)]

This time you get discounted tickets, in-field parking with PCGB, a great bunch of people to chat to and some of the best sounding cars in motorsport (and the best sounding car) ;) See you there!

Hi everyone,

I'm a new club member since late April, and I've owned my first Porsche since February this year. It took me quite a while to find the right 997 Carrera S manual, with impeccable service history in must have(for me anyway) Guards Red with black painted alloys. I had to travel to Scotland in the end to secure the car.

I drive it almost daily and I'm smitten with the driving experience. And touch wood, it is proving to be much less of an attention seeker than another car I own, built by a different marque based in Stuttgart, which is currently sitting in Germany without me after breaking down on a road trip back to it's spirtual home!

Welcome!!

Car looks lovely but then who doesn't like a red 911 ;) Sorry to hear about your other car, hope you get it sorted quickly!

Looks great! is that a sun roof I see?
Yes, a good old tilt/slide metal sunroof. Very similar to the one my Ford Capri had in the 80’s! Except I don’t have to wind the Porsche version.

Dear all,

First post on the forum so "Hello world" from a new Porsche GB Member[:D]

I have been thinking about it for 6 months and last June, I finally pulled the trigger on a 997.1 C2 Triptronic from 2006 with 90.000 Miles.

After 3 weeks of mechanical scrutiny by a good Porsche indie, and some external pampering and upgrades, I am happy to report that all is good (no bad surprises except maybe the £400 charged by Porsche to redo a second key).

Lots of pleasure & sensations for all the family each time we take her out (a four-seater was a MUST for me as I could not envisage to leave our kids behind - they actually are the ones enjoying the car the most...) on the roads of Kent or France (Vive Eurotunnel cheap day pass).

Hi

I'm a new member to Porsche Club GB. Bought my first Porsche (997.1 C2 S manual 2007) March this year after a long search and taking the plunge. Best car I've owed and since March I've done 5200 miles definitely not a garage queen. Enjoy your cars hope to see some of you at events with your cars.

Not sure how to upload photo to this post.

Anthony

@BooToo997,

Welcome to 997 ownership. I too am a new member based in Kent who is loving life with his 911.

I took the Red Baron to Silverstone at the weekend and got lots of compliments from fellow campers about how great the car looks. We also had a lovely cross country blast on the way home yesterday in the company of an AMG G63s. For a shed, those things can shift!

Can I please ask which Indie who used? I’m still looking for a local one.

Enjoy life with your Porsche and I hope to see you at a Club event soon.

Steve

So far, they have been very friendly, honest and very thorough in their assessment.

Too early to juge the price aspect compare to other indies but I am more after quality than cheap price so not my primary criteria.

Hope to see you at one of the Porsche GB Kent reunion. Arnaud
