OULTON FEEDBACK, BANTER AND PIX HERE!!

Thats a point Ian...Paul must have got his car sorted out now ( 111db last time Paul[8D]?) because I know he was out on track. Have you made any alterations to your car since last time Ian? I know you were looking into maybe a modified Cup-pipe or an acoustic blanket were you not?

I asked for my reading and was told 104dB.

Not bad --- the Wills Tip brought me back from the 105.6 they generously had allowed me to drive with the previous year .... [;)]

Chris i think you had your monies worth out of the those discs!Oulton is hard on the brakes.
The red rs is my car,my son Graham drove the car most of the time,i spent most of my time in the white 993rsr with red and blue flashes on.

Thanks Paul, agreed [;)]

I'm inclined to fit standard as usual ... unless anybody thinks otherwise ... ?

Just a few words to say how much I enjoyed myself on Friday, a brilliant day.

Thanks to Melv and Jason for the passenger laps, both sessions were a lot of fun.

Was 110db. [] . I changed the Cup pipe to a new old-stock primary silencer. So relieved I got through that I forgot to ask for the reading! [:D]. I have a new secondary silencer on order so I may change the primary back to Cup. [8|]

A great day, then. Did anyone have trouble with the noise testing?

Ian
Yes, 5000rpm @ 107dcb, then 4800rpm @ 105dcb, running cargraphic extractor manifolds with heat exchangers, 100 cell race cats, with lightweight cup mufflers, can normally reduce the rpm on the test but they now observe the rev counter whilst performing the test.[]

100db!!

Just hope I can squeeze on to a 98db day at Goodwood next Friday, 13th!![;)]

Still some spaces, BTW, PM me if you are seriously interested...ÂŁ155, since you asked!

Hi Matt

Not done anything yet Matt but Nigel at Powermarques has got a spare end pipe that we intend to enlarge/extend as per Will's with temporary inserts to keep the testers happy. Any acoustic blanket (thick rubber matting !) would also only be temporary but arguably this would acheive no more than making up for the loss of undertray.

Don't know what my deadline is yet 'cos I haven't chosen my next trackday ; is Croft going ahead? is Donington really ÂŁ300 but will we ever be allowed on it again after the alterations and any concessions that the new owners have hade to make?

I'd love to do Spa and the 'Ring but cannot afford it at the moment. All of which really makes me wish I'd done Oulton!

Ian

Hmm

Wonder who'll be first to "fake " the RPM figure by a few 100 revs to get a lower db figure

Not that I'd even suggest such a discraceful tactic[:D]

Can just imagine all those revcouter needles being shifted a few degrees

Of course no one would ever suggest such a devious tactic ....

But its a darned good idea!! [:D]

I'm looking for a recommendation for a hotel near Oulton for a friend going there. Which one(s) did any of you use and what was the rate?

I'm sure it happens - tach is electronic so should be straight forward[:D], used to have an Alfa that apparently dropped 500rpm whenever you turned the heater fan on!
