OULTON FEEDBACK, BANTER AND PIX HERE!!

ORIGINAL: Steve Brookes

I'm looking for a recommendation for a hotel near Oulton for a friend going there. Which one(s) did any of you use and what was the rate?

Steve, are they looking for something economical? This place is privately owned but run like a Travel Lodge - I knew the original owner but it has recently changed hands. It was very well run, clean, etc... hopefully still is: talltreeslodge.co.uk. It's on the A49 going towards Warrington (going from Oulton - other side of the Shell Garage from Oulton by 5 miles). I recommended it to some customers last year and they said it was really nice. Rooms from £39.95 per night. There's also a couple of nice pubs within walking distance that do food. It's about 15 minutes away from the circuit and is easy to find for anyone coming from out of the area... from M6 North or Southbound, join the M56 (Chester/N.Wales) at M6 J20/J20a... come off at the first junction on the M56 - J10... take 2nd exit off the roundabout, A49 Tarporley Road, towards Oulton Park; the hotel is app. 3.25 miles from the M/way,on the right just before traffic lights at the junction with the A533 (Northwich Road and Runcorn Road). In this Google maps satellite view the M56 juntion is at the top and the crossroads with the A533 is at the bottom of the image: Google Maps View... the track is approximately 9 miles from the hotel... the Shell garage everyone knows is 5 miles from the hotel.

Thanks Tim, personal recommendations were what I was after as google threw up plenty of options. The chap is now sorted. Apologies to Melv for taking thread OT...have slapped my wrists...[:eek:]...feel free to remove the appropriate posts if they're in the way [;)]

No problem at all, I managed a lot of laps in others' 964s..... and both Oldtimer and myself can confirm you did indeed looked sh*gged at the end [:D].

BTW for anyone who's not seen it, have a look at the RS day thread in the 968 forum where Big Dave has posted his rear cam video. It really shows up the contours of the track and the lines of the fellas chasing him.

Amazing generosity from all, hugely appreciated on the RS Day charity.

Update on original post;

Little girl was due to have a 'Mr.Wiggly' (intravenous tube) put into her neck Thursday 12th but has been too poorly. My sister informed 'Mum' what you guys had done on the RS day and how much we raised. She didnt respond for 2 days............ crying. She couldnt believe a bunch of people who didnt know her could be so kind...

Thanks to ALL involved. Contributions, drivers, (girls with the buckets of course) and the many who supported the Raffle etc.

Even the Alfa managed to raise a few quid in hotlaps

Planing year 10 already
