Poole Quay 2009 - Register BBQ 22-23 May

Hi,

Amidst all those VW's that'll be parked up there in Poole Harbour, do you think there'll be any room for a proper thoroughbred sportcar? :ROFLMAO:

That's always assuming of course my Man can extinguish in time that annoying red engine warning light that keeps appearing on me dashboard!! [&:]

Regards,

Clive

Well perhaps not the Du Vin this time.. I don't think they'd let me take the bottle as an off sale [&:]
The voucher is open for all of their hotels, we've had the deal at the Birmingham one a few times now and its very good.
They also have a room and dinner rate now on, but the parking would not of suited us for this event.

Clive, I don't know what they do with the other exotica on the night, I'm sure they'll be happy to find a spot somewhere for you though..
Sounds as if you may need that extended warranty... [;)] mind you most Ferrari owners perhaps wouldn't of noticed it yet as the car would still be in the garage from new [:D] or it that RS guys, I forget now.....

I plan to be in the area quite early in the day, so hopefully a reasonable parking spot [:)]

The deal at Hotel du Vin looks good and I am contemplating booking it for my party of 4. What time would you suggest eating given the event on the quay starts at 6.00pm .

With this event in its final stages of planning I have attached a brief itenary forthe weekend.

Friday
Arrive at Poole Quay for 6pm where you will be parked by the Tourist board marshalls.
some of us are arriving earlier in the day to check in at the hotel, so do wave if you see us [;)]

Saturday
10.30am Drive out to zig zag hill and the jurassic coastline, departing from the Hotel.(plenty of parking) The drive is only a couple of hours but ends in one of the high spots of the coast line, so allowing plenty of time to look around yourself.
4.14pm Arrival at the Hospice to meet and greet the children followed by a short 15minute drive out with the helpers and children
6.45pm Arrive at the BBQ
10pm lights out!! [;)]

Some may want ot take a taxi to the BBQ, Bob has suggested some taxi suppliers, but we can discuss this over one of the many breaks during the day.

*I have included everyone in taking part in all of the day, if you don't wish to take part in any section please do let me know in order for us to double check numbers.

There is a two page article about Poole in the Times today (Saturday) with a picture of the quay where we will be on Friday.

As for the weather all I can say is it can not get any worse than today so has to get better. There is a high pressure on its way but not sure if it will be here for Friday lets hope so

Bob
I booked the Salterns for the Friday some time ago and intended to drive home on the Saturday, but would now like to stay somewhere not far from your home on the Saturday. Of course the Salterns is booked out and wondered if you had any suggestions? I know you posted some earlier in the thread, but not sure which are close to your place.
Thanks

Peter,
We're staying here on Sat night as we couldn't get 2 nights at Salterns

Sorry I have been away for a few days and not checking the forum but looks like you are sorted. Weather should be OK but may be a bit cold for the Itallion Stallion which I am really looking forward to seeing and hearing so lets hope Clive has sorted out the Itallian wiring that Kept showing him the red light. For those in Salterns the car park normally has some interesting motors in it over a weekend look out for 430's and Lambos and a large sprinkling of Bentleys as well as some lovely boats

Having received various emails, it seems that many are sorting themselves out for food on the Friday night either via hotels or snacks..
I'll see you all on the evening in the Quay (if not at the Hotel bar earlier) and hopefully then back in the hotel bar later on the night.. [:D]

I will hopefully have maps and details with me on Friday but to confirm on Saturday we will be leaving the Salterns Hotel at 10.30am for the drive out.

We're definitely going to the hotel first, hopefully arriving around 1300ish, and thought we would eat something substantial before the event to leave the evening free to enjoy the cars and bars!
