Porsche Spotting

Spotted a Gold 924 on Queensway in St. Annes, heading towards Lytham, yesterday, 14:15.
Today, a lovely old K reg (1971?) 911 whizzed along Forest Drive, right past my house. Nice noise.

GeeTee.
Have you just had your car into ACT car trimmers.??? For a hood replacement.???[:D][:D][:D]
Im a 968 cabrio owner from "North Fylde". [8D][8D]You aint spotted me yet then.. You seem to spot plenty of other cars around the area....[:D]

Hope Grant + Barry dont "spend" too much of your money ......[;)][:D][;)][:D]. Seriously i hope it goes ok......

The most ridiculous thing I have ever seen yesterday - a Cayenne stretch limo on the A174 just outside Redcar - does bad taste not know any bounds these days??

Yes, the car was at ACT for a few days a couple of weeks ago. I'm really impressed with the result. It went a little over budget because somebody had bodged one of the cables and it needed replacing, but now the hood folds more quickly and much quieter. How do you know?

I've not spotted you yet, but I'll be on the lookout next time I'm up that way. Were you at the meeting at Myerscough last month?

As for Grant and Barry - too late, I let them loose on it and asked them to fix everything - I just want the car to be spot on. I've every confidence they'll do a great job though. It's been there two weeks now, so I should get it back soon, just in time for the rainy season.

One of these creatures was spotted around Preston a few weeks ago by Rob - see post 88 on this thread back on page 5. Surely there's not two of them!

Gee Tee.
Your roof.. I know Roy quite well..
I had him "do" my roof some 2.5 years ago... I basically had to rebuild the whole assembly, due to some "prat" [ NOT Roy],who had brocken one of the uprights... so i know it very well...
He called me up for a bit of advice on 944cab roofs about 2 weeks ago, so i put 2+2 together....

I also know Grant + Barry "very" well, as both my cars have seen the inside of there workshop on many occasions..They do ,do a good job...

No i wasnt at Myerscough the other week,, ide just got back from Le-mans , so was a bit kn****d....But i do go to some of the meets at Garstang....

Happy spotting...

Is that Dave with the white hair and a tarty 'leMans' teeshirt? Part of the Three Stooges act at Wednesday's meeting?[:)]

Cheers
(Fred from Sunny Cleveleys)

I'll be visiting him again once Grant let's me have my car back - Roy's going to put a line of stitching in the front passenger seat where it's come loose over time.

Probably see you at the next meeting then - or Woodvale?

Fred
I presume you mean the meeting behind "The Edge" in Poulton..????

Whats with the "white hair" bit.????

Hello Dave,
No, R18's meeting at Garstang Golf Club.
Just found out that the Dave I was referring to is from Blackburn not Blackpool. Sorry for the confusion.

(White sounds better than 'Faded Grey')[:)]

Cheers,

I dont spose anyone knows whos the wein red (or sort of burgandy) 944 s2 cab is that is parked either outside round the back or out the front of the Excelsior Hotel in Causeway Bay Hong Kong is!?
Saw it next to the World trade centre mall last night, then a few hours later right outside the front of the hotel!

I am pretty sure it was round the back of the hotel when I was here last Nov too. There is a Porsche dealer just up the road, so it maybe something to do with thta, or the hotel!
I got a photo, not sure I've see a wein red or burgendy metallic one before (hence unsure of colour!) I bet its bloody rare in Honkers!

Unfortunately, I haven't been that far in mine yet, but my beloved and I are going to Australia in October, and Hong Kong is a possible stopover either going or on the way back, so I might have a look for it then!

Mine fits your description, but was definatly not that far from home.

Another fine day for Porsche spotting in Lytham!

First, 11:15 outside Booths in Ansdell - a lovely old J reg (1971?) 911T in metallic Blue.

Second, and this might interest a few of you, a bright Yellow 944 "Club Sport", with black 'Club Sport' stickers down the side - this one wasn't in the wild, it's on a forecourt at Clover Leaf Garage in Blackpool (01253 343260) and has a £6000 price tag on it. I can't find any more details as the guy isn't back till Monday, but it has 944 in the registration number.

Cracking "d" reg metallic grey 944 heading into Carno mid-wales yesterday.Followed in my cab until he turned off.Looked great and we all waved.Super![:)]

What is it with Lytham today! I was out on the lawn unravelling a roll of alarm cable (like you do) and a Silver 944 went past - Forest Drive, Lytham, about 14:00. I need to learn how to differentiate between the models because I haven't a clue which it was!

Gleaming black F ref 944 pulled alongside me just prior to A6 Chorley, off M61 this morning for a big smile and wave - think she spotted me as I was miles away - anyone here?

That Silver 944 went past my house again today at 16:00. Looks like it might be a regular weekly trip. I'll be watching for you next week!

B reg - White 924 in central Edinburgh, almost managed to follow him home at about 5:30 in the evening.
