Porsche Spotting

Spotted a black 944 while i was parked up by Victoria Park in Canton, Cardiff. We had a wave to each other. I was in my 944 waiting for my Mrs to pickup the takeaway ;)

Black 944 (S2 or Turbo, cant tell as I always see it at the last minute) on the lower Luton Road between Harpenden and Luton been seen a lot lately.

If you see a grey Landcruiser with the biggest chrome nudge bars and sump plate in christendom then...................thats me [:D]

Yesterday I bought my "new" 944 S2 in Nottingham. It is a 1989 LHD, finished in linen metallic.

The only other Porsches I came across on my 300 mile run home were a 964 cabrio (funnily also finished in linen metallic and also LHD) on the M1 and a guards red 944S just before Edinburgh.

Went to the Dive Show at the NEC on Sunday and spotted a white 944 lux in one of the car parks. Also spotted a Pagani Zonda heading for Stoke-on-Trent on the A50, well I spotted the spoiler and the wing mirrors above the armco that was obscuring the body of the car!. Not a Porsche I know but a pretty impressive motor all the same.

Saw a dark coloured 911 Turbo cabriolet tiptronic parked with registration plate R4CE U [RACE U] last evening in Marylebone.

Good registration number even though it was set out illegally.

Also in the area, near Harley Street, I recently saw a 911 with registration plate - B10PSY [BIOPSY] - presumably belonging to a doctor or pathologist.

It was 42 miles since the fuel warning light came on (how much further could I have gone? Anyone?), so I filled up my S2 at East Horsley Filling Station (on the A246). As I returned to my car, I saw that another Titanium (colour, not the metal!) 944 had arrived (reg GIL ****; didn't look closely). I must have been daydreaming as I hadn't noticed it, although, in fairness, there was a huge 4x4 blocking the view; so, I didn't spot the driver, though he/she must have gone in to pay while I was still inside. Didn't have time to stop and find out; places to be, people to see and all that.
On the drive home from Dorking to Guildford, only a few hundred metres from the same filling station, saw another Titanium 944 - I had a squint as it passed (going the other way!) and was 90% sure it wasn't the same one.
Approaching home, saw a third 944 (Guards Red) heading East on the A246!
What was it about that road today?
Saw a few 996s and 977s as well, but then this is Surrey! Porsches don't seem to have much rarity value around here; maybe I should buy a 2CV again. Oh, hang on, saw one of those as well this morning. Hey ho...

Must be a week for coincidences - I had my car booked in for some bodywork doing, but at the last minute, the bunch of clowns accepted another job and said they couldn't do mine (more on that in some other thread sometime after I've cooled down!).

So, I took my 944 Cab to a small place in Blackpool, and they had 1 other car in - a silver 968 Cab!. K registered. They rarely get Porsches to deal with, even rarer to get a Cabriolet, but 2 together caused all involved to stand and stare for a few minutes.

I was pleased to see that the work on the 968 looked good, so hopefully when mine's been done it will look like new.

Spotted a lovely red 944 Cab on the A428 just coming in to Northampton from the Bedford road. Reg began with A7 (I think).

Also spotted a black Turbo parked right outside my house with a huge www.northloop.co.uk sticker on the bonnet (Mrs Davyboy must have been on the school run [:D])

Saw a Black (believe it was black anyway - very dark!) 944S (E Reg) on the M6 heading north, then turning on to the M55 for Blackpool at 19:15 yesterday (Sunday).

Yet again, I was in my Mondeo so was ashamed to wave. [:(]

I was driving along the m4 near newport south wales and saw this lovely looking red 944, i was in mine and this car overtook me, so like i am i caught up to it then over took it, he flashed me then overtook me and gave me the thumbs up and shot off the junction. Has anyone seen this around south wales m4/ newport area, and me hopefully mine red too lux.

Very similar to above with a Red 944's looked beautiful followed it from M40 to A34 near Oxford then couldn't resist overtaking. Driver didn't look too impressed but acknologed me anyway. I was in Scruffy looking Red turbo (but doesn't burn any oil at least)

Just seen a nice Red 944 S parked off Forest Drive in Lytham, lunchtime-ish. It's only 400 metres from my house, yet I've never seen it before. Maybe it's just visiting....

Hey Phil,
How are you? yes it was.
Sorry did I flash?
Theres a white 944 always passes me on the A259 at 07.15am and always reminds me of your 924. Do you still have it?
I`m going to do another Southern Meet this year, I missed last year due to ill health, so hope to see you there, whatever you drive!
Regards
Keith.

I'm commuting from East to North London on a daily basis these days, and keep on seeing a very tidy black Cabrio, usually just north of Tottenham although I saw it in Barnet today as well.

I've flashed it two or three times, and waved too, but the driver always ignores me.

If you are on here - wave back next time!

Oli. (Baltic S2.)

There can't be that many black cabs in London :ROFLMAO: so it could have been our very own Hubert in his black Turbo Cab. Without giving his personal plate away it begins with H and is very close to his name so have a close look next time.
