Porsche Spotting

Sundon Road, in the wilds of central Bedfordshire @ 11am today. I popped over a railway bridge and round a corner to spot a blue 944 Turbo coming the other way. He looked surprised and had a woolly hat on, perhaps his heater isn't working or it might have been a fashion thing. I had my sunglasses on, it was a "seeing where you were going thing". I pulled the light flashy stalk thing-a-ma-jig so something might have happened, then again maybe not.

Welcome on board Mark, its great (and rare) for a Spotee to come on here and say 'hey that was me' [:)]

Congrats on the purchase

Red 924S lovely condition, under the M6 where it crosses the East Lancs Road.
Stopped next to it at the lights but as in the van didn't wave.

Hi - new to the forum and thought I'd say hello.

I see this thread has been going for a while and without wading through the umpteen pages I wondered if the subject of acknowledging other Porsche drivers ever came up?

Perhaps it's something to do with up its @rse Surrey where I live and is festooned with all Porsches of the highest spec rather than my nearly vintage 2001 Boxster... nobody ever seems to do a version of what we did when I had a (whisper) MGB a while back. A subtle but definite nod or wave. I rather liked that.

(Actually, I tell a lie as the driver of a dark blue Boxster of a similar vintage to mine did actually wave the other day but I was so surprised I didn't have time to wave back!)

So is it me? Where have all the friendly drivers gone?

Or is it simply, 'Surrey seems to be the hardest word'?

Thoughts welcome!

I saw the front of a red 924/944 in Ipswich yesterday waiting to pull out on a roundabout, but was going too fast in mine to get a proper look

I seem to be seeing 924s recently. A red one heading through Sandhurst yesterday (I flashed lights) and a white 924S parked in Haselmere today.

Parked next to a red 924S outside the Majestic Wine Warehouse in Early this afternoon. Parking lot was almost empty so it would have been rude not to park next to it.

I saw quite a tidy 924 on cross spoke wheels in a car park in Coventry today :). Quite a tidy looking '24!

Anyone on here? lol.

Alan.

No, but there is a similar car in Milton Keynes ;). It is a Turbo, but not as we know it.

Saw a gold B reg 944 heading North on Brixton road near Oval on Sunday. Was on number 3 bus so waving would have felt strange!
