OK - start time amended to be 30 mins later to give everyone a bit more time to get to Reading. I have changed lunch to be 1230 now also. So we hopefully will be leaving OPC Reading about 1030. easy_rider911 has already programmed in each tour into his PCM Sat Nav, so if anyone else wants the final routes emailed to them before the day then please do drop me a PM. Cheers, -Alex

I took Simon out on the morning route yesterday in my Turbo. His 997.2 C2S was apparently far too dirty to be on show after his trip to the NBR in Germany last weekend, so he came to my pad in his wife's very nice new BMW M3. Anyway, I think Simon enjoyed the route as much as when I floored it in 2nd and 3rd (overboost off)!! ...which is quite a lot!! He commented that there was a really good balance of fast roads and slower scenic ones. I am actually quite chuffed with the morning route myself and a little amazed that such good roads exist in this highly populated part of the UK [][][] I have also discovered a good place to have a quick pit-stop (for stretching our legs) an hour into the morning drive: The Five Bells At Wickham Baydon Road Wickham Newbury RG208HH [link=http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=RG208HH&spn=0.0005,0.12&hl=en](see map)[/link] This should provide a great photo opportunity too as the pub car park is 2 tiered onto the road, and I don't think it will be open about 1130 so should be no other cars in the car park. There is also a Shell garage just down the road from this if anyone needs to fill up on route. If the weather is half as good as it has been this weekend then we should be in for a cracking day, and I will certainly organize a repeat trip later in the summer. PS: some excellent articles in this month's Porsche Post [][][]

Gary Would have loved to attend as greatly enjoyed the Poole drive but sadly will be with horses and dogs in deepest Warwickshire. Please keep me informed of future events. My sons also thoroughly enjoyed the drive and would be very keen to attend again. Best wishes to you and Jo
Please note that this event that I have arranged is now fully subscribed for the 7th June. The restaurant cannot handle a bigger booking than 20 people and we have that now. I am planning on repeating the trip later in the summer so if you couldn't make this trip then please do register your interest with me at some future point. Many thanks, -Alex
PM sent to you Rich. Yours was the pretty white Turbo on the Poole trip yes?ORIGINAL: husky Hi Alex we went on our first porsche weekend to poole with Gary and Jo and had such a wicked time we wondered if it was possible to come on the drive although the restaurant is fully booked we would do a picnic for ourselves and then continue the drive with you. Thanks Rich
Ran the afternoon route today and ended up at the George & Dragon in Wargrave for lunch out on the terrace in the sun...
Traffic was quite bad at times, and the google maps plan I have, differs route wise slightly to what the Sat Nav wants to do. So I am going to look again at the afternoon route to get them in sync.
OPC Reading have informed me that despite the showroom not officially opening until 11am on Sunday that we have exclusive access from 9:30am. 997 literature and showroom cars will be available to look round. Teas and coffees will also be ready and waiting. I am just hoping the sunny weather holds: [link=http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2818]http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2818[/link]
