Also - where are you? There are a few tip cab owners around, but some are scattered around the country - although we have a t least 3 here in Kent!

If you're south east, there's a 968 GTG on Sat 21st May at the Grasshopper Inn Westerham, on the A25 just west of westerham, 11.30 for a couple of hours and maybe a bite of lunch.

That's nice low mileage, my cab is about the same! Roughly where are you - it helps other owners when you ask for help! Have you also found the porsche968uk forum?

Good to see another 68 owner appearing, shame this forum does not show your approximate location (unlike on 968uk, where you can put it in your profile/sig). We have occasional GTG's - like last Saturday, as you can see in the 968 sub forum. Big one is Goodwood later in the year, last year we had 17 968's, it's also a good day out.

Had my convertible about 8 months now, first Porsche and loving it. was doing minimal miles but now I'm enjoying it too much. Off to Scotland later in the year to do the NC500 although the car will have done an extra 1500 miles by the time I get back.

Glad to hear it. You'll have to let us know how you get on with the NC500, read about it in a Porsche mag late last year and it looked like a great trip. Some of the roads looked amazing. Stuff the mileage, you are here only once!

Hi all, I've been enjoying ownership of my 1995 Slate grey Sport for the last year and half, and only just made it on to here. Currently I'm getting stuck in to a bit of an engine/engine bay tidy up. I recognize a fair few of you from Porsche968UK
Here's a few photos before I started taking her apart.

Looks great, love the slate grey. I've never seen one in the flesh so look forward to seeing it in the year

Thanks Warby, I was lucky it came up for sale just at the right time and only 20 miles away, theres not too many 968 up in this neck of the woods. I think there's about 4 in the area, one of which you can probably spot in the last photo, an immaculate yellow CS.
mine is not quite so immaculate, but Im working on it...

come to the yearly gathering at goodwood, 6th August

nice in slate grey, thats the second one i have seen in that coulour

Id better get my skates on with my car if I'm going to make the 6th of Aug. I have also got two week road trip planned next month to the Czech Rep. (unfortunately not in the 968) to visit the wife's family. and on the way back a call in to Stuttgart to visit the museum and factory tour, I'm looking forward to the Transaxle exhibition they have on at the moment.
I have also spotted an other slate grey 968 up here in Aberdeen.

You're not alone in 968 ownership in Scotland Stephen, if you look at the members map on 968uk you'll see a few others!

Hi Stephen,
You might see another one up there in Scotland in slate grey metallic in September doing the Nc500 This colour appears to becoming more popular by the day !

just done the secret hills tour last weekend 35 Porsches out and about on the Welsh borders, great day ! Rain and sun

I now have what was Stu's almost-standard Guards Red 968 Coupe. Formerly K 300 WAX, now L 130 OME.

Since taking ownership I've:
  • - let Cath Burrows give it the once-over,
  • - MOTd it with no advisories,
  • - fitted new Goodyear Efficient Grips,
  • - taken off the M030 ARBs and swapped them with Stu's original standard ones
  • - fitted a Blaupunkt Stockholm DAB radio,
  • - fixed the power seats and
  • - sold the Turbo S splitter back to Stu.
Next job: fit one of the Saratoga Sunroofs arranged as a Group Buy from Pilkingtons. One-of-these-days job: paint it!

Tim - in Chorley :)

Yes, 1995 Sport well over CS spec (GAS adjustable, M030, 993 Big Reds, 928 GTS Discs, race seats, 6 point harnesses, Porsche LSD, lightened flywheel, re-mapped chip etc etc!)

Chris,

Yes, a very big investment by the last two owners but as long as the suspension is unwound, you keep the harnesses out the way (normal belts as well), can get in the seats, avoid glazing the race pads (when the they are not used hard enough) and put the right wheels and tyres back on what could be easier.....! But I am looking for a less 'edgy' 911 to keep the 968 company and use more for the road!

I fully understand the "Can get into the seats" bit Mike - my 968 coupe had comfort seats with the low side bolsters, the cab has full leather sports seats with high side bolsters, wife and I both have slightly dodgy lower backs and are not as young as we once were! Love the comfort of the sports seats once we're in the car - it's getting in and out of it that's getting slowly more of a problem. I know we'd have no chance at all if we had CS hardback buckets!! Still, we love the cab when the sun is shining and we can go out topless, so we'll keep her for a while yet!

Have you found the 968uk forum yet - well worthwhile for 968 owners of all sorts. We even have a couple of turbo/supercharged cars (one is a cabriolet!) as well as some track oriented, and 1 or 2 planning turbo conversions! Loads of practical knowledge on there.
