Rolling Road day at JamSport Northampton 19/06/04

I updated my first reply a few days ago. I wondered if you had spotted it [&:]. Yes I will be there and I'm pretty sure Steve D will be to.

Cheers

Andy

OOps [&:]Right you are I hadn't spotted it. You're added to the main list now.

I'll work out this week how we are going to 'organise timings'. Obviously I'll be there all day but I don't expect everyone else to be, especially some of the non-locals who have a way to travel.

If anyone needs a specific slot (to the nearest hour) shout out now, but with a bit of flexibility we should be able to sort it out so that a car is always being tested and we're not waiting around for anyone

I was thinking about buying a Blitz chip, but I'm sceptical as to improvement etc. 'can you really notice a claimed 15bhp etc' against fuel.
What I was thinking was to get one, test car without then fit it (with some help, as at the moment I don't even know where my ECU is!) Obviously, later in the day and another payment post fitting, test again and see what difference there actually is. It just seemed like a good opportunity than convincing yourself 'yeah! it's much better' when it's not.
What you reckon? Twist my arm.

The 2 runs would cost more than the chip!

Paul is going to chip his S2 before I believe and my chipped one will be there too, so you could just see what the difference between the cars is; If we both make similar power and it's a bit more than yours then the difference is proven.

As for whether or not you can feel the difference I don't know, but having a plot with numbers isn't going to help there...

I think you will feel a difference in terms of smoothness and low-down responsiveness. What did Andy (Northernbloke) say? I'm sure it was that the difference was noticeable.

I notice Richard has one on eBay with a buy it now price of £39.99 - less than a tank of fuel by some margin.

The ECU is under a piece of wood (seriously) in the passenger footwell. If the instructions from Richard aren't comprehensive enough then Andy or I can help you with it.

IIRC the instructions on the Guru Racing web site are very extensive if that is of any assistance.

I'm not so sure I'll be able to chip my S2 before the Dyno day. Apparently I've spent rather too much on the car lately [&:] (just fitted new front disks and pads to the Turbo today).

But I do plan to do it at some point and I'm only across the road from Jamsport, and I do have a before graph, so I will post the difference

Thanks Fen, I did have an idea it lurked there. What I meant by 'what do I do' was wether to fit chip now or during test.
As I'm attending, I would really like to see what bhp the car I bought has left in it and then to see the effect the chip has. What better time to do it, also for anyone who was thinking of getting one plus I could be putting an identical chip back in and think it's better 'cos I'm putting my foot down more.
This is also a long term thing and outways the cost of two tests.
So, is it possible to request two tests or not?

Yes Darren there are still two places left so if you want one of them for your 2nd test just say the word.

I've swapped chips in the pitlane at a trackday before (due to problems [8|]) so you should have no problem with 20 odd petrolheads all standing around watching you and offering advice [:D]

Cheers! I'll take you up on that then.
I do have some idea of bits and bobs. (very technical term!)
I won't be completely greedy, if there is someone else who desperately, desperately wants to go then I can give up a booking (I guess)

I don't think I'm going to make it after all. At work we have slipped the upgrade of North America to Active Directory until the 3rd weekend of June, which is the 19th and 20th. Since I'm technical lead on the global Active Directory project then I will have to be available, quite possibly even having to travel to Canada, for that entire weekend. It means I also miss the Region 15 concourse which I was looking forward to (as a spectator).

If the day is under funded by me dropping out then I am happy to stump up my money.

Hopefully I shouldn't need to do that Fen [;)] Deleted you from the list. Make sure you work hard that weekend [:D]

Guess I should book another slot then, remove the chip all together and see what can be achieved by everyone pushing.

Cheers, you and me both. North America (the continent rather than the country) is actually the easiest - one domain being upgraded to join a new forest and with around 5 or 6 core apps on the servers. Then we hit Europe where we go from 29 domains to 1 and with something like 200 apps on the servers. I haven't even thought about Asia Pacific yet...

Blimey! !!!!! [&:]
I'm trying to follow your guru this and your tial that! Can't find any of the above in my Haynes. I'll try my etch-a-sketch, this also has global reprocussions.

well Ive ordered my BlitzChips today so it looks like I'm in! Please put my name down if there's still a slot Paul.

Thanks
Dan

Paul - OK I've added you Dan

I'll be there 11am'ish. Fit in whenever, then later whenever there is a slot after fitting my chip.
