We could make a small detour to include a visit to Sinsheim for the Car & Technology Museum either going to or from the Ring. http://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en 3,000 exhibits from all areas of technical history on more than 30,000 sqm of indoor space and in our open air ground. The exhibitions include a genuine CONCORDE from Air France and the Russian Tupolev TU-144, more than 300 classic cars, 200 motorcycles, 40 racing cars, the largest permanent formula-1 exhibition in Europe, 60 airplanes, 20 locomotives, and much more. Any thoughts?

Sinsheim is around 200 miles south east of the Ring so well out of our way. Nice idea though and I think it should be on the itinerary for the next eurotrip. [;)]

Yes my mistake. I was plotting the journey on Google Maps and got Nuremberg instead of Nurburgring.

David that's in effect what i'm doing . though i am going down / up to stuttgart. Not sure if i will get to do both Factory museum and Sinsheim. Sinsheim almost requires a full day, there is so much to see. I have been there a few times it's a fantastic museum. It's quite a detour from the ring though as Rich says about two ish hours to sinsheim and about another hour or so to Zuffenhausen.

I'm tempted now the Zolder meet is shortened to go to the museum and stay overnight there, and then go to the Nurburgring as originally planned on the 15th. I guess I can make my mind up later. If there's a group-fest going on in the car park on 14th, leave after and go to Sinsheim for the night then spend a long day in the museum before returning for evening meal at Nurburgring. I remember Melv saying it was a really great museum. I'll sleep on it.

If you go to the Porsche Museum, you might consider coming back via Mulhouse and the Shlumpf collection http://citedelautomobile.com/en/home

I would have thought while you are in deepest Bavaria you should visit the LadenHosen Museum on Engleberthumpendicken Strasse in Kackenhoff ... bring your card and get 15% discount on their new leather his and hers collection ... there are lots of museums on this street including the Bavarian Museum of Sheep Worrying ..... [;)]

I think Laurence should also take in the Gmund Museum .... then pass down the Stavlo Pass and meet up for breakfast in Bruges[;)]

He'll be far too early for breakfast. Maybe he should also do the Cols along the Cote d'Azur to eat up some of the time. [;)]

Was thinking a boat to Sicily and visit the Olivio olio factororai Musuemo and a dip in the Roman Baths near Calgiri and a quick tour of the Tarag Florio and Museum. Loads of Museums in Sicily including the Don Carleone Cosa Nostra vaults .... from here possibly a boat to Libya and the Gadaffi Car Collection Museum ....[;)] http://www.temehu.com/Cities_sites/museum-of-qasr-libya.htm

thanks chaps but i think i will only just about have time to look round the Factory Museum, the others would be a bit of a squeeze time wise[;)] [:D]Schlumpf is unfortunately not on my route back as will be heading up to ring. To be honest i had considered giving up the idea totally but might not get a chance to do it again for a while and given i would be going to the ring and back anyway (half way there) it works out fuel wise not as bad as I thought.

How about Westvleteren near to Ypres. I guess most of you wouldn't be interested but I thought I'd throw it in the bag. The Westvleteren Brewery is a Belgian brewery founded in 1838 inside the Trappist Abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren in the Belgian municipality of Vleteren, not far from the hops-producing town of Poperinge and the medieval city of Ypres. The brewery and its beers are usually referred to as Westvleteren. The brewery's three beers have acquired an international reputation for taste and quality, being considered by a percentage of beer aficionados and judges to be "the best beer in the world" as well as the limited availability of the beers which are not brewed to normal commercial demands, but are sold in small quantities weekly from the doors of the monastery itself, on a first-come, first-served basis. Des i might just get time to get to the Ladenhosen museum. I understand there are a pair of your used Ladenhosen on show there. Still covered in sheep shoite from your exploits at the other museum[:D]

We've had 3 more RSs sign up this morning for the Zolder meeting. Any more owners considering a last minute trip to join us? You know you want to!

2 days to go and the list of cars for the RS display is still growing. No Mint greens available as yet though. See you there! [:)]

Hope you got my email sent a few days back Martin. Have a great safe trip everyone, unfortunately could not make the extension to the Ring, and as I originally booked to came back Saturday decided to cut my losses and transfer my Tunnel Ticket.[] Look forward to seeing the pics of the RS Display.
