RS FEST 2013 IS GONE!!!!

Gents As some of you are aware Paul and I pulled out of PoT some considerable time ago, being unhappy with MT's lack of communication and the unfortunate situation and timing of Tim's illness. It was announced that Tim had a brain tumour and that Marcus would be caretaker. Zolder was always to be an Easytrack day and MT in his wisdom allocated it to PoT. Any membership money was ring fenced, so we were led to believe...apparently now not true.... Anyway, if anybody wants to take this further with MT: Contact no.'s:- 0033 164 22 06 77 0033 678 26 20 74 This from the Easytrack thread on PH:- "For reference, the following adress info has been listed for MARK ANTHONY THOMAS (DOB 1.1.1971) over the past few years. This is in the public domain, so i dont think im breaking any rules: FIRST FLOOR, 2 WOODBERRY GROVE, NORTH FINCHLEY, LONDON, N12 0DR EBONY COURT, WOODFORD HALSE, DAVENTRY, NORTHANTS, NN11 3RW JAMESONS HOUSE, COMPTON WAY, WITNEY, OXON, OX28 3AB -solicitors for liquidation of Easytrack. 5 PLACE DE ORMES, 77760 RECLOSES, FRANCE -last known address. GENHEIMERSTRASSE 171, BASEL, BASEL STAT, SWITZERLAND UNT RUTSCHENTWEG, PRATTELN, SWITZERLAND Also, & just for reference, a new company was set up Jo Seggie & Mark Thomas on 25th January 2013 called Jazz Design Limited, so if this is the same 'Jo' she is still the director of a company with Mark Thomas." Note his real name is Mark although I have always known him as Marcus. He may also be using the pseudonym Phil Linn. He owes me a grand and some goodwill if u find him....

Very unfortunate Melv, I know you guys joined with the best intentions of enthusiasts trying to get a good group of people with shared interest together, and have been caught out. As others have said I hope that the Oulton RS day keeps going.

I think reading the pistonheads thread would answer the question! Ten reasons why I personally would not have made a public internet statement spring instantly to mind.

you have lost me hugh? I have read the whole ceased trading thread? If i had known earlier that Melv and Paul were not actually behind POT I would not have paid by bank transfer !

ORIGINAL: Laurence Gibbs Melv So why did paul and yourself "pull out some time ago" but you only chose to let people know early May ?
Laurence ... not sure if you have ever run a company or partnership. You have to be very careful of making any statements or comments which are not based on material fact at the time, in fear these could be incorrect and leaving yourself open for libel or misleading information. Unfortunately until the situation becomes fact beyond reasonable doubt, then and only then can you make comment. There seems to be a lot of goings on behind the scene and any sudden comment may have been premature. As it tuns out the situation unfortunately now seems totally doomed. I would think when others pulled out as you say, there may well have been another plan for the show to go on, however with the internal "partnership" not seeing eye to eye and would rather not be in a certain persons company, not that the Track Day was cancelled. This would be my understanding ..... Having known Melv and Paul for many many years, I would not question their integrity and total honesty, probably could not meet two straighter guys. Having ventured myself into the World of retail with Carband, I can safely say you start with the best intentions choosing people to deal with on a huge trust basis. There are some real flakey people out there, as with this situation seem to go transparent having agreed to do this and that and letting you down. Sometimes it's beyond your control and can only try and sort things out after the event. Luckily everything is on a good footing, but don't know where the next googly is coming from .....

Des i see your point. Though i am struggling to understand how a statement to the fact that Melv and Paul were no longer associated with the company and that MT had taken over could have be taken in any other way than a statement of fact? At the time it happened ?

.....until its posted on the internet everyone starts taking it, twisting it, and abusing the truth as has happened by those involved who posted in the pistonheads thread. I echo what Des said. The internet jury is not a fair one, and not one to play wth.

Just for the record. Please realise that i fully concur with Des and others in that I too have know Melv and Paul for some time and they have only ever come across as honest and decent chaps. Hence the reason I asked the question.

Laurence, even though you paid for Zolder by bank transfer, have you asked your bank if they can reclaim your funds? I know this is more straight forward when paying by credit card but banks are usually pretty good at getting their money back from liquidators. You'll have all the details of the account you sent the money to, so it might be worth asking them the question?

Thanks Steve, had not thought of trying that. Got to be worth trying. Edited to say...speaking to other half who used to work for said bank, she reckons not likely at all[:(]

I count Melv and Paul as very good friends and agree they are totally honourable and would personally trust them implicitly. Still would [:)] In hindsight though you have to agree a bit with Laurence. P-O-T was never clear from the start what it was, who owned it and what it's cover/liability etc etc was...it even changed names a few times at Companies House etc. But hindsight is a wonderful thing and I'm sure Melv and Paul wished they'd not got involved in the first place for sure now.[&o] Maybe an email to say they had left the company's association and why, when they did leave, may have been appropriate with so many people probably having joined in the first place because of their association? Would that have changed anything? Depends I guess on where you were at as an individual at that point anyway. A very sad state of affairs and sadly when an individual like MT 'goes bad' then lots of people lose out. Not the first time it has happened, won't be the last. There sadly will always be people like that. I genuinely hope you all get as much of your money back as possible, have learned some lessons BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY that Tim recovers from his illness. Having had 3 close friends already diagnosed with terminal cancer this year it puts $hit into perspective.....

Back to Topic .... I am booked going over on the Thursday with the Crowd was only going to do Zolder and travel back on the Saturday. Will the crowd be moving on to the Ring straight away or staying for one / two nights ? Or should I cancel my trip ?

Des Martin will have to confirm but i think he has arranged for a meeting of 64RS at Zolder (in the car park) on the friday. I think they all then go to the ring on Saturday? But don't quote me. Alternatively if you can stretch to coming back Sunday eve and an earlier tunnel x ing come down to Stuttgart with me. Back up to meet the rest of the guys and gals on fri eve or sat morning and back home sun eve. I already have two tickets for the ring and a hospitality tickets for Sat at the ring.

It seems we have been allocated a parking area at Zolder for our meeting on Friday. Although there will be none of our group on track, the rest of the meeting will be going ahead as sheduled. I have contacted the Nurburgring B&B and asked if we can arrive Friday evening instead. I don't think this will be a problem as she told me on Wednesday that, as yet, they have no bookings for Friday. Once I receive confirmation of this I will let everyone know they can cancel their Friday booking at the Zolder hotel - but don't cancel the Thursday! Des, great to see you this morning. Glad you have decided to join us at the Ring for a couple of days. I have emailed you details of the Ypres hotel. Thanks for your patience guys! [:)]

I will arrive at the Nürburgring Saturday morning, will be staying until Sunday eve. Hacki

Great news Hacki. Just to let you know we have infield parking at the Ring with the German Porsche Owners' Club, and also food/drink/hospitality area with ADAC on the Saturday (I think Des has a spare pass for food/drink?). Would be great if you could park with us - assuming you're bringing Tippie? Or are you bringing Die Salutingwagen?

Great news Hacki ... it appears I should have a spare pass for hospitality ... will you bring the Cup Car?
