RS FEST 2013 IS GONE!!!!

Martin I know none of this is down to you, However do you know where the deposit monies (in fact all monies related to the Zolder booking ) have gone? There were certain comments made on this forum that POT had no affiliation with Easytrack? When the initial POT thread was started (now removed) there are now certain comments suggesting otherwise. If the suggestions are true i cannot see how Zolder are ever going to be paid? Regardless of what Dino is saying ? Unless someone with very large pockets of wedge comes to the rescue!!!???

Stop being such a worry wart Laurence, Martin has dealt with sh1t last year and yet again he will sort it .... trust in Martin .....

IMHO the only way this will go ahead, if all the monies are lost, is by another TDO taking over our date and gets enough other cars to cover their expenses AND through the goodness of his heart allows us on the track also. So it won't be Porsche exclusive. I trust Martin to get the best deal.

That's exactly right, David. Along with the goodwill of Dino at TT events and the Peter who runs Driving Fun, i think they estimate they can raise enough money to pay the circuit and allow all those who have already paid to drive at no extra cost. If they can't make that happen then there is always the option of the day at the Ring in Sept or another day next year. These guys don't need to do this as it's not really their responsibility but it seems they are willing to come to our rescue, one way or another, which i think is a very nice gesture. As i mentioned in one of my previous posts, Marcus (formerly of Easytrack) is the guy who created the P-o-T website, liased with Zolder, took all the Zolder bookings and sent confirmation emails to people who paid but apparently knows nothing of where the funds are or went. But he does have a list of names of people who have paid and how much they have paid because he forwarded it to Dino before he cut all contact. It wasn't until after that that we learnt that the deposit had not been paid. Hopefully i will have more news in the next couple of days.

Take care out there chaps!! Belgium – travel warning "There has been a series of robberies and express kidnappings on or around the E19 motorway connecting Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Ghent, Dunkirk and the Channel Ports – particularly towards the southern end of the route. Perpetrators of these incidents have been using threats of violence and carrying knives and/or firearms. In the early hours they have been flagging down vehicles, seeming to seek assistance, or kidnapping single drivers outside petrol stations or 24-hour stores. The perpetrators have generally been gangs with Eastern European connections, sometimes using UK-registered vehicles. They have been robbing victims on the spot or taking their victims under force to the nearest ATM to extract as much cash as their cards will allow."

Sh1t it's getting like the 18thC with Dick Turpin etc. I'd heard about robbing camper vans who stayed the night in those very nice rest areas on the French motorways by gassing their victims before breaking in. I guess convoys are going to be quite a common way of travel.

So have we!! That's why we NEVER stay in them....

Unfortunately, due to the underhand 'goings on' at Porsche-on-Track (as was!), we have no option but to cancel the day. It turns out that we are not able to raise enough funds to secure the circuit and enable all those who have already paid to have their time on track. Believe me, it wasn't for lack of trying! Not really quite sure what else to say at the moment! If i said what i felt i'd probably be locked up!! [][] As an aside, the few people who i have spoken to who were not booked on track but are coming along for the break are all still intending on coming regardless. As far as i'm aware, the Nurburgring tickets we have ordered allow us entry to the event on the Friday as well. It seems that the hotel at Zolder can be cancelled up to 48hrs before arrival with no penalties to pay. I am awaiting a reply from the B&B at the Ring to see if they have any vacancies for the Friday. Our possible intentions being that we stay in Zolder Thursday evening and then head off to the Ring Friday morning. Just a thought ...

Thanks for the update Martin. It's an unfortunate situation and seems many people have been left disappointed by Marcus's actions. Also just to say thanks for all the organisation and hard work! Doing the ring on Friday could be a plan. Or also happy to look at alternatives in the Zolder area. I'm away at the moment until end of May so will speak when I get back.

I had booked just for the weekend returning Saturday ..... Thanks for all your efforts Martin ... are you all still going out on the same Tunnel ... ?

Yes, Des, all of us still going out on the same tunnel (except Mr C) who, for some reason, has booked one half an hour earlier. [;)]

Waiting to hear from Zolder (will be tomorrow now) if we can use their car park/facilities for the day. If not, i think we will stay in Zolder Thursday evening and head off to the Ring Friday morning.
