Rutland 2017 March 12th

wasn't in April last year or am I mistaken??

24th April yes. A few years back we elected to hold the event later due several cancellations because of snow and ice and it generally being a miserable f*****g day. Back end of April is thoroughly more pleasant!

The risk of running into April is that the calendar starts to get "busy". Off the top of my head, there's the "Practical Classics & Restoration Show" on at the NEC, the FIA WEC at Silverstone and the Donington Historic all running over different weekends in April and all with significant Porsche/Club interest. Then there's "Easter" too. March, however, is "quiet".

March the 12th is fine for me (can't do the 19th as we are in Iceland), come rain or shine there will always be a Rutland [8D]

Me and my Saratoga can be there for the 12th of March but can't make the 19th!!

Having enjoyed a Rutland meet about 4 years ago when I first joined I promised myself I'd put a little more effort into my involvement in the club and the forum and return when I could.

It'd be good to put some faces to names!

I promised myself that I'd go along this year but the car is going in for a general bodywork tidy up at the end of February so unlikely it'll be ready in time.

Iceland is great - if you've not been before, mail me for some top tips...

Eldavo- you can come in the boxster... (we know turbos are rarely on the road anyway.. )

I'm getting the feeling March 12th might be the date?

Sorry chaps I won't make it if it is the 12th of March. Wife off to Baltimore that weekend so I will be doing my SuperDad routine. Shame as I was thinking of bringing Ropey EBay Turbo along on the trailer for everyone to have a good chuckle over.

Hey, there's nothing 'ropey' about an '86' 951.....well worth restoring no matter how much work is involved...:)

Right I can do the 12th March and I'm happy to organise it with Anglian water again. Same format as last year, convoy from Peterborough services, tyre kicking etc.

I'll check the date with Anglian water... just in case there is another big group/event planning for the same date, plus we get dedicated parking. Will try and confirm next week.

Who is planning to meet at South Mimms Services on the M25 and if so at what time are we leaving for Peterborough?

I shall Andre if I'm going...March isn't best for me so will have to wait until closer to the time before committing...it's cold too and my heater isn't currently working....

cheers

Pete

Would me and my Saratogaless 968 be allowed to come and lower the tone? He should be back from EMC by then [8D][8D][8D][8D][:D]
