Rutland 2017 March 12th

Oh dear Pete I'm afraid you may have to park in the naughty corner! It would be great to see you again.

Anyone can go Pete, don't think I'd drive very far to stand about a cold car park though....

Right, we're all booked in with Anglian water. Can someone remove the question mark from the title of the thread?

Done - anyone want to post this on Tipec?
I'm the Assistant Regional Organiser for Peterborough region of Tipec and can assure you it has already been booked in with us and the east midlands region. Looking forward to it!

Can anyone remember the timings from last year?

My camera says target Peterborough services to leave at 10;00, meet Whitwell Sailing Centre 11.00., but my cameras never have the correct time on them.....

I'm afraid that it's unlikely that I will attend, not unless we suddenly have some very unusual weather for that time of year. It wasn't warm last year in late April and the long-range weather forecast for March is not very good with temp in single figures and high winds, which doesn't really appeal when planning a day's tyre kicking session, especially with SWMBO in tow. However, I will wait until nearer the time to be certain but looks unlikely right now for this old boy...:(

Yup, that's about right. At least, those are the times from years past. 10:30 at Rutland for the "meet at Peterborough" crowd was always "optimistic".

Hi Andre,

Yes I will be meeting up at South Mimms Services for the drive to Rutland; just can't remember what time we normally leave, was it 8am?

Cheers

Who is planning to meet at South Mimms Services on the M25 and if so at what time are we leaving for Peterborough?

Previous years it has been this schedule, Max.

London and South Pre-Meet -------------------------

Meet at South Mimms Services (M25/A1 Junction) *LEAVE* South Mimms by 8.45 Travel via the A1 to Peterborough

Peterborough Pre-Meet ---------------------

Peterborough Services (A1M J17)

*LEAVE* Peterbough Services by 10.00 Travel to Rutland via an undefined and possibly circuitous route (follow Mike)

Main Rutland Meet -----------------

Arrive Rutland 10.45 ish

Last year the route was odd to say the least (could have got there 10 minutes earlier on direct route), was fun though and wouldn't change it.

That was entirely deliberate! Mike took us on a scenic route rather than a very boring drive up the motorway. Same again this year?

Was an observation rather than a criticism. I enjoyed it, apart from trying to keep up with an extremely underpowered and poorly car under me. It's had a lot spent on it since then so hopefully should be there or thereabouts this time.

Hello,

I'm going to try and join in this meet if I may (never been before, despite being a 944 owner for over 15 years!). I'll be travelling from Farnham Surrey, so will try to meet at south Mimms services at the 0830hrs mentioned. Anyone else going from the Surrey/Hampshire area?

Regards,

Phil.

there's now a possibility that I may make it, will try to confirm before the date..

Pete
