Saratoga Sunroof - Bulk-Buy

I have a very strong suspicion that they will not send out any parts, you are dealing with the USA, the sue you nation of the world

it will be return to fix it or nothing

The cost of a bad self engineered repair that could go wrong and possibly hurt someone with 10kg of glass sheet flying through the air at 70mph.

return the roofs get them fixed then the responsibility is on pilkington not you.
Others clearly have the same concern as I do and we'll each make our own decision I'm sure.

I for one don't want to let my roof go, I feel as was said above "I think you will never see them again" Is a distinked possibility.

As has been said before there is a fix that could quite easily be reached with some simple engineering, what would Pilkington say to a refund of sorts (give us half our costs back) to allow us to resolve the problem ourselves, would anyone be up for that ?

I contacted Nick and had a very quick reply, in essence the panel has to go back (for all the reasons mentioned above), what he did say, "as soon as I have a resolution rest assured I will ship one out to you". I have not asked for a refund as my commitment to purchasing a panel (I know not all of us can do this), might be a gamble but hopefully this is the right thing for me to do.

My Unicorn was collected by Pilkingtons this afternoon and I have contacted my credit card company and advised a refund is due.

Lets hope it can all be sorted

Just think, you might have got your panels, fitted them and we would have had a few pages of sun roofs and happy heads and that would be an end to it. This way we must be good for another 20 pages or more.

It is a bit odd, but I feel I may miss this ongoing saga once we actually have the damn things.

No longer will there be the thrill of the email notification and the anticipation of logging in to see what new twist the plot has taken. I fear it will be rather like a much-loved television series coming to an end, but with no prospect of endless repeats on "Dave".

I just knew this statement would come back to haunt me. Mea culpa!

Thank goodness I don't have a sunroof. I've went through some amount of popcorn though.....................:ROFLMAO:

I feel sorry for everyone involved...I hope it gets sorted soon chaps and that you all have you new roofs before the sun returns...

regards

Pete

Mine is being picked up tomorrow (hopefully !) Should we start a sweepstake on when the panels will be sent back out with the revised fittings ? [;)]

"Curse Of The Unicorn"

Now my standard roof is playing silly bollox, passenger side will not retract fully and clicking noise from the white plastic box in centre of the roof, sounds like gear wheel has stripped. I shall seek advise on the main forum.

Mine went yesterday. Comment fomr the delivery chap was to the effect of I imagine I'll be back with another one. Anyone seen a refund yet?
