Saratoga Sunroof - Bulk-Buy

nsg.com is the domain name for Nippon Sheet Glass. They appear to be the parent company of Pilkington, as far as I can tell.

Cheers,

Rob

Thanks Rob, I had forgotten that Pilkington was sold to NSG and just a coincidence that we are dealing with NG@nsg!:ROFLMAO:

Thanks for all your work on this so far guys, looking forward to getting this now (and some sun of course would be good) 👍

Where are the missing 12 have they got cold feet you will not get a better chance to buy something like this again a sound investment

I've had no reply since contacting Nick on Sunday.

Would it be possible to ask Nick if he could confirm who he's received pledges from so far, rather than him sending individual emails to us all?

Nor have I (which doesn't seem very business-like).

Hopefully Pilkington Nick is in touch with someone on here about this (Tom/Fripp ?)

Incidentally and as a newcomer to this, many thanks to whoever has organised this group buy.

Don't worry folks, Nick is receiving the e-mails and has been in touch with me. We're both working hard on this so don't lose faith, the process has began and you'll have your Saratoga tops by the summer! Trust me, I want my one as much as any of you!!

For those that are concerned, I'll contact him today and get some clarification on where he is up to. Please remember, until the moment I called Nick a couple of months ago he didn't know who at Pilkington to contact about these, now he's placing an order for potentially 30+ units and planning on stocking them in the UK too so let's cut him a little slack. As I said, I think the guy is a little taken back at the level of interest!

Thanks Tom - that is reassuring.

I hadn't quite understood that Nick is not at Pilkington; so that explains more.

You know how it is: once you have the idea - you WANT it !

Name Added, been away sorrry for delay.

Thanks for the hard work in organising this. I will particularly enjoy this as it is always sunny in Reigate.

No problem. I KNOW the feeling! [;)]

Just had this response from Nick:

"Yes all is fine but I have to now get them all set up from our main DC due to the numbers (it’s a good thing) but takes time especially with the time difference communicating with the states.

This isn’t going to be done in a week, were looking at over a month id say.

When we initially spoke it was for 10-15 pieces which I could transport over in a crate as a one off, now were over 30 this is a consignment I need to arrange properly.

‘Bear with it’ is the message"

They're all being received for sure and I'll keep this thread updated as and when I hear back from Nick.

P.S.

What (in your profile, Tom) is a "café" racer ??

Antony

(Iris blue Sport)

It's a style of motorbike. Retro, stripped back 60's/70's street racing style. I've got a Honda CB400f Super Sports that I'm doing a back to bolts restoration on (look it up, the exhaust pipes alone are a work of art!), I've seen them before and think they all get the Cafe Racer look all wrong! It's a complete bike and I'm doing Ace Cafe drop style handlebars, custom racing seat pan, chunky retro tyres and custom tuning on. It's a long term project but a lot of fun, it takes up a lot less room than the 944 and I'm not as scared of fudging it up when I do work on it!:ROFLMAO:

Thanks for asking!

I've also just contacted Nick and I'm another latecomer (I was not on the original list).

I was on the original lists and have sent Nick my order - a little late as I am traveling in Australia!

Looking forward to getting the roof.

Richard

They're in sight now!! [:D]

Ooooh! Oooooh! Ooooooooh! You've posted everyone's real name! We'll all be cyber-stalked now, and have our personal details nicked and our bank accounts raided and our birth certificates copied and our children cloned!

I think you should step away from the computer and sit on the naughty step for a while so you can think about what you have done!

(And, on another note, well done and thanks for your hard work on this one Tom. And sorry for calling you 'Frippo' earlier on. [:)])

It's Nick you need to worry about. He knows where you live...Oliver (never would have guessed you real name!)!

You're quite welcome. In fact I'm now considering changing my name to Frippo to save my children. :ROFLMAO:

Well organised Fripp - thank you again.

Pilkington should be pleased - 35 is a pretty good group buy !

I didn't ask before but I assume the glass is toughened and strong (e.g. for storage) ? And can we have double-glazed ?? [8|]

Antony

(Iris blue Sport)

Not sure about double glazed but yes its toughened glass. This was an original option on 944's back in the day so it's not a mod.

Argh, there is always someone that is late for the party, and it is usually me... I have emailed Nick now... I was late on the original list too, ah well, we shall see. My own fault if I have missed the boat!

Tref.

Thanks to all involved with organisation of this, much appreciated and no.11 on the list! Just got to fit the new headlining now

or it'll look pants....

Cheers
