I cannot believe a company the size of Pilkington/NSG would be so un-professional?
I have put together group buys elsewhere on the web and everyone knew where they stood with the provider from the outset with copies of e-mails, alas, we haven't had that assurance on this occasion?
Sorry Tom and Oli but this is enough for me.

Pilkington may be big but the Saratoga tops are new to the UK ops.
Sorry you feel you've been kept in the dark. I'm far from a group buy veteran, just wanted to do something good for the benefit of everyone on the forum (I could easily have kept all this to myself or even made some cash on the side!) and unless something's happened I don't know about, you shouldn't be out of pocket in the process so I guess you're just being impatient or weren't that serious from the off.
Still, your choice to pull out because of a lack of professionalism. I'm happy to continue to wait for my Saratoga Top as much as I 'm prepared to wait for the summer to arrive so I can enjoy it![]

I agree communication could be a little better but this is hardly an every day order. I know for a fact (as I have emailed him myself) that Nick is waiting for the confirmed delivery date before he sends out the invoices. Thanks again to Tom for arranging this..
I do find it a slightly strange that, given the ease of communication via email, the person running with this at NSG couldn't knock up a few generic lines of text to say they have received our initial order and a brief overview of the current situation.
Obviously all the up to date info is in this thread anyway, but I think it would give people a warm feeling to hear straight from the horses mouth so to speak.
As I said, I'm not personally concerned, just playing devil's advocate!
Thanks for your efforts, Tom/Fripp.944Fripp said:*** UPDATE ***
I've been in touch with Nick who passes on his apologies for the radio silence.
Apparently the Americans miscounted their stock by 10 units and are having to finish the order by adding the modified catches to the final 10 (they are all supposed to ship with the modifications, 10 of the units did not have this fitted though).
It's all progressing still and I'm keeping the pressure on.
As you say, you could have chosen to benefit personally out of this. So much appreciated.
I just hope they arrive this year !

I have it on good authority that the guys in the US are bring pushed as much as possible by Nick....well that's what he said anyway.
Keep the faith! I'm still pushing, they're still counting but I've kicked up enough fuss so that EVERYONE knows we're all still waiting!!

My understanding is that the Saratogas have been made for... decades - for 968s and 944s.
So what are these "first ones" - are they the first of a new batch ?
In any case, surely all the plans, drawings etc. including for the fasteners should be to hand and the panels could just be rolled out ?
Yet there seems to be a problem.
I must admit I am getting a bit nervous about this.
