Don't worry too much Tref. Nick is ordering 40 and assuming some are going to be bust on arrival so there may be a chance of a reserve list. Failing that you have all the info you should need to order one in the future and according to Nick, Pilkington are going to stock them in the UK too.

Tom, firstly thank you for all your endeavours in getting this to happen. Just wondered if Nick had given you any indication of what price they will be selling them direct? Also, is this consignment being sent by Air or Sea?

No worries. Sorry, I've got no idea about future pricing. I guess it depends on how many they stock and what stock turnover they estimate. They're coming by sea freight I think. Nick is aware of the excitement so is doing what he can to get this all sorted ASAP and Pilkington UK regularity ship from the US.

Be careful what you say Andy...if Nick gets wind of this the 4 unit margin for shipping damages may just turn into 5 courtesy of a pair of size 9's...Pilkington have a reputation to uphold you know!!

See post #153. As I understand it 40 will be ordered and he'll let us know when payment is needed when he has a firm delivery date. If your name is on the list in #153 then i think it's just a case of waiting for an email in the next week or so.

I'm not on the order list, if I'm not wrong there may be a couple of spares units within the original order of 40, would it be possible like "Tref" to go on the reserve list if so how is this done ??

They weren't an option, they were a dealer supplied aftermarket part. There wont be an 'option' code.

Just so everyone knows....I'm still keeping the pressure on Nick....wouldn't want all our hard work to go to nothing, summer is on it's way and Andy 944 needs to show that interior off!

Still waiting on confirmation from Pilkington US and those that are on the published list (and possibly those that have sent Nick a separate e-mail) should expect a pro forma invoice from Nick as soon as shipping is confirmed.

I'm really looking forward to getting it. The cars been off the road now since last September and many things have distracted me from getting it back on the road, plus it still has to go back in and be repainted. I'm looking forward to a long warm summer with the sun shining through the roof [8D]

Sods law says that with 40 944 glass sunroof's destined for UK shores it will be rubbish summer lol.

*** UPDATE ***

I've been in touch with Nick who passes on his apologies for the radio silence.

Apparently the Americans miscounted their stock by 10 units and are having to finish the order by adding the modified catches to the final 10 (they are all supposed to ship with the modifications, 10 of the units did not have this fitted though).

It's all progressing still and I'm keeping the pressure on.
