Silverstone 944 track evening July 14th

They're always a good evening for a spectate and a chat with other 944 owners. The drivers on track try to congregate in the same or adjacent garages so it's pretty easy to find us if you've not been to a meet before.

I'm keeping a close eye on this one and hopefully will be able to make it. Difficulty is that I start a new job in a couple of weeks and will need to see whether I can get the time off. Fingers crossed.

Melindi had plenty of spaces the other day, so I'm sure there's still plenty of time left to book. It's looking like we may get one of our best turn outs for years [:D]

Good luck with the new job Steve.

spoke to the guys at RPM yesterday (I'll save that & not hijack this thread [;)]) - they are coming on July 14th [:D]

Hi Ed,
Yes they've invited lots of their customers, so there will be plenty more 944's and 911's there I imagine, should make for a good photo opportunity if we can get them all together!

now the PCGB race at Brands GP has had to be cancelled on 18/19th July -- that leaves me without any practice in mid-July -- so as so many of the 'usual suspects' are showing themselves -- I'll have to give this some serious thought !!

Please do Paul, it'd be great to see the tangerine one there [:D]

Without wishing to go too off topic, but it does seem UK motorsport is having an odd time of it at the moment, lots of cancellations and the like (understandable at Donington I suppose!), but must be really frustrating when you've got the car ready and have next to nowhere to use it [:(]

I am just getting my new dual adjustable GAZ set up right ready for Brands Indy on 30th - then can think about my July activities (NB I have a full set of LEDA double adjustables & springs up for grabs if anyone knows a good home - PM me for more info)

Still off topic. Yes the Brands GP cancellation, was not because of lack of interest -- quite the reverse. It is a WTCC event with so much going on in the programme -- that they wanted to push us to a Friday lunchtime quali and then only a single race at 5pm on Sunday! On that basis it is not really a runner for us & expensive -- our own Mr Kevlin told them to put it where the sun does not shine!!

Doh, I really want to come along but I'm expecting to be either out of the country then, or at the very least busy in July.

Is there another meet planned for mid/late August?

I'll be at the one on August the 17th and I suspect a few others will be there too (Simon D is already booked for example), so chances are there should a mini meet happening then [:D]
