Silverstone 944 track evening July 14th

Bit of a bump as it's only 1 month to go. I understand tickets have been selling well and there aren't many spaces left, so now is the time to act if you want to join us at Silverstone. Go on, you know you want to [:D]

I do but alas my tyres don't [:(] I'm not going to get a new set of tyres through my finance department at the moment as I am significantly down on sucking up currently. [:'(]

[:(]

If it helps I have some 15" teledials with serbian made tyres on them, but you might need some quite large spacers to clear the calipers [;)] :ROFLMAO:

I have a lovely set of track tyres in the shed but they are only 16". If it was the rears that were the issue I would probably slap the back ones on but unfortunately it is the outside edge of the fronts. They are OK for the road (just) but a dry track evening would probably render them useless for driving home on.

John - why don't you take those big brakes off? - The you could get the 16's on with no problem

FWIW, a friend of mine picked up a very good set of medium blacks from PH last week - only £140, which I thought was very good value.

John - why don't you take those big brakes off? .....

Because, regrettably, after a relatively short period of time I would be missing the reassurance of stopping. I know medium blacks are fine but I was using them with those nice aerodynamic 928 type drain cover wheels - very light and stylish but not the most efficient brake cooling available.

I'm certainly going to come along and watch this first time to get an idea of what goes on. Obviously I'll bring the 944. Do I need to register to spectate or buy a parking permit etc?

James

Would stop you worrying about tyre wear however [:D]

James, no need to do anything other than turn up, if security stop you just say you're there for the track day and they'll give you directions.

Bring a helmet if you've got one - I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for passenger laps

looking forward to this event as it is my next time out -- are we having a bite afterwards at The Green Man? (civilised sort of thing we frontrunners indulge in after some epic lappery!)

as has been said -- good time to book now to: a) get a space and b) to keep the nutter coefficient to the absolute minimum!

Good question, I've never been measured seperately so they must go by drive by only. I suspect they have to be quite strict thanks to the usual nimbys, but can't remember seeing any heated debates there unlike at most circuits!

I don't see why not [:D]

I'd be up for that - I have a bit of a lengthy day planned - spectating / passengering at Cadwell a.m., followed by the drive down to Silverstone

Hi Peter, sorry but I cant go now, I have not paid any money or had any contact with Melinda, so just take me off your list. Its a b shame! Mike

I have very stupidly booked a meeting on the 14th on the wrong side of the country. Gutted as I was counting on doing this one [].
Will be booking for the next one on the 29th.

Forgive me if it's been posted (quick scan can't see it) but what time is kick-off? I understand it is until it gets dark, so 9:30 ish?
