Silverstone 944 track evening July 14th

Sorry to hear you can't make it Mike and Steve, I've removed you from the list Mike as requested.

James the track time runs from approx 5:30 to 8:30, so with briefing/signing on its best to get there just beforehand.

NB -- now fully booked.

but come and watch or get pax laps (bring a helmet if poss)

And guess who had just worked out he could attend - have sent goldtrack an email about cancellations not heard back yet.
Will come and watch anyway.

Tony

Fingers crossed for you Tony. Shame it's such a long way for you as I'd have suggested coming along and chancing it, places normally come become available, and sabotage isn't always out of the question [;)] :ROFLMAO:

Will come and spectate / passenger anyway, been to enough to have seen last minute drop outs, early failures etc.

Tony

I bet you won't be able to - you'll be at the Essex BBQ with me !!

Who organised the dates to clash ???? [] [] [] []

Good news, I'll be able to take lots of pictures.

BBQ's instead of a trackday -- uummm ???

I have been on a diet - yes me a little bit but most from the car!

It has taken 3 days to remove about 20 kg out of the car (part of the loom, part of the dash, unused brackets, some of the door internals etc). I have also cured my fuel tank 'swirl pot' problem so should be able to run about 15kg lighter on fuel during a race. You can tell I am getting desperate to reduce lap times and 14th July is my first time out in the "lighter Tango mobile"

Guess I'm going to have to come along to this, if we're all going to be there!

Anyone who wants to offer me a passenger ride I will try to find my helmet and bring it with me. [;)]

Blimey, that's a good saving, what is it down to now? How far is it off the minimum weight for your class?

Don't switch your camera on, he doesn't stop talking and it takes ages to edit out the sound afterwards [8|]

<Cue fake Hollywood voice over>In a track car no one can hear you scream (or talk for that matter) :ROFLMAO:

Peter, any chance of a ride round? I'll be the billy-no-mates in a red lux DxxxLJO clutching a crash helmet and hoping that someone will offer a trip round!

Of course James, it would be a pleasure, I look forward to seeing you there.

For anyone who wants some passenger laps please remember (in the unlikely situation that the weather is as hot as it currently is) that you need long sleeves and trousers to be allowed out on track.

I'm good to go [:D] - Re-built shocks, DPW & MBC fitted yesterday (and a crack in the wastegate pipe welded up)

The car is pulling very strongly - drive to Liverpool tomorrow gives me a chance experiment with the "black knob" (currently only 9 psi)

Looking forward to Silverstone - hope it's dry

The car is pulling very strongly ............ (currently only 9 psi)

Wow! With the Vitesse MAF and 72lb injectors you should be able to safely turn it up to circa 18psi and the MAF will sort out the fuelling to keep the AFR spot on. Your car is about to pull very strongly indeed []

hope so :) - It was running an LBE at 18psi - but dropping to 11psi at redline. I was also losing boost with the cracked wastegate pipe.

For some reason, ph sportscars left the LBE inline with the MBC, so it was spiking at 18 before dropping to 9 - LBE now removed and I will be winding the boost up on my way back from Liverpool this afternoon [:D][:D]

I should see most benefit on track where I hope I will get more "go" between 5&6k - very important at places like Silverstone [:D]
