Silverstone 944 track evening July 14th

Great pics of the track event.
I cant make the next evening event and have emailed Melindi to see if i can postpone to another date so theres a place available for any late bookers.
I will start a new post re the v8 conversion - I hope to offer it as a turnkey solution eventually and only on rover engines as i cant afford all that wonderful LS1 stuff . I dropped out of pcgb forum last time because i couldnt post anything without some sad type claiming i was punting for business so I hope this is acceptable. I expect to start my project in August and it will take a good few months as a fill in job.

You'll be missed, the 29th isn't far off now so lets hope a 944 owner will take your place. Ed, do you think yours will be ready for a shakedown by then? [;)]

I for one will be very interested to see how the V8 transplant goes and I hope you're able to document it here, it may not be something I'd do but it will make interesting reading.

Bit early for me - booked to go in on the 23rd for head removal - will need to be crack tested & refreshed before re-fitting, so will be early August before it is ready. Then I can sell it [;)]

Don't you dare [] :ROFLMAO:

I might be up for it, hopefully I will have rebuilt my lux's front end with new bushes, wishbones and some koni dampers by then. Might be a good opportunity to see what a difference it will make.

I did my first 12 stage rally in the lux at an airfield in yeovil on the weekend and absolutely loved it. Car stood up very well and I came 12th out of 26, although the handbrake cable snapped. Got the bug now and will definately be looking to get involved in some more motorsport.

Darn[]Got something familyish booked on 17th otherwise i would really be up for that one...If any more are organised can we post it on here because the other night was a hoot and i really want to do that again, evenings are right up my street.

Sorry to hear that Mark, there are only two evenings on the GP circuit left this year, the other is the one in a fortnight exactly. Would be really good to see you there if you're able?

I think I'll start another thread for August 17th to see if anyone else fancies coming along.

I've just watched my video, it's quite dull to be honest and doesn't really reflect how good it was, but I'll see if I can edit it down into something worth watching.

Here's a vid of my last session on Tuesday. I stayed out for a very long time and only stopped when a Noble broke down and they red flagged it. Whilst this video makes it appear there's a lot of traffic please bear in mind that the other 40 odd minutes were run on a fairly empty track, I just thought that would be a bit boring to watch that (not that I'm promising it isn't boring anyway [;)]).

Silverstone video

It's not terribly clear, but the Elise nearly lost it mid corner which took me by surprise as it wasn't exactly going quickly, I nearly had a bit of a moment trying to shave off some speed there!

I did swear at the GT3 driver following his lunge, but admit I wasn't entirely surprised...

Great save by the red 924 through Copse [:D]

Yes I did out brake myself into the chicane before Club [:)], I couldn't find second (or it jumped out, can't remember which - good excuse whatever the case).

The Jag at the end was much better to watch in real life, it was soooo sideways, everywhere.

Nice vid Peter, thanks for posting it [:)] That was me in the gravel at about 8mins 30secs [;)]

I need to find a hard point in my car to mount my camera (or get a bullet cam), my old suction mount isn't allowed any more.

Very Good video Peter, It might not have looked like it but I was trying hard in my car, looking at the driving lines i can see more than a few problems but hey its all about the fun. I think a camera mount is high on my list now - which one do you use?
