Suspension & Brake refresh

ORIGINAL: andy watson Simon, Gutted for you mate that is really bad luck, is that the same at Venom as well?
I know that its only £150, which isnt a massive amount considering what I hve spent on the car, but Im struggling to suck it up and order at the new price.

ORIGINAL: 944Turbo I think if you lower the rear of the car with the wheel on you will be able to get the bolt in, you just need to 'compress' the torsion bar spring. You can then worry about height adjustment on eccentrics later. The Spax kit looks good!
Top man Tony, all sorted that was easy! Thank you Well that is the kit all fitted now, just waiting for the calipers to be returned and then I can get her off the axle stands and adjusted. Had hoped they would have been back by now[] Went to fit the new HEL brake lines and found they do not fit[] what is the matter with these suppliers? That is incorrect info and PSX kit sent by Spax (after checking via the phone with them twice!) Brake calipers taking far to long due to wrong kit being sent for the refurb HEL brake lines wrong size (after double checking via the phone)

Been following this thread with interest. I managed to bag a set of RSXs at the knock down price, after seeing your post regarding new fixings I too went to my OPC and ordered some. I looked at PET first and decided I'd go for washers as well, that was a mistake, looking at the invoice they were £5 each... I'm planning on fitting mine tomorrow.

If only! The brake calipers finally arrived back today and I am not happy, finish is very poor and not what I would call a high end paint finish, also no Porsche decals applied as ordered.

Hope you get them back as they should be. I have done a lot of brakes and sometimes it is quite difficult to get the best possible result. Here's few example what i have done. M3 brakes before

I have ran into problem with some aluminium Brembo calipers. After media blast surface is more or less full of small pin holes. After powder coat they looked like this

Surface like this is not acceptable. I sanded by hand all the calipers (took about 8 hours to get a perfect finish) and then new powder coat on them. They looked just great. My customer was satisfied, i was not, because i had to spent extra day to get them look as they should. Now i can tell beforehand if aluminium Brembo would need some extra work before they can be media blasted / powder coated.

I cannot seem to be able to take any decent photo's that show up the poor paint in artificial light, but wil have a go again. I have been in contact with the company today they have said that I can send them back and they will redo them correctly, I will not bore you with the explanation for the state of them, but suffice to say I have lost all confidence with them and have agreed a refund.

Not very good pics due to the glare of spotlights, don't be fooled they are not that shiney!! This shows the typical finish on the parts that are smooth

Not what I call high end painting for an extra £225

And there is red paint on them because?

Areas that have been damaged / marked

Areas that have hardly any paint cover
