Track Days

Only three weeks to go for this now, as said above couple of us are staying a night before the trackday at a small inn in Milton Ernest. Rooms are still available or if your staying elsewhere a good meeting point for couple of pints before a good nights rest. Please make sure your car is road/track worthy, if its due an oil change soon I would do it now, you may also want to look at your air filter, brake pads/fluid, chances are you will suffer some brake fade during the day. Bring some spare fluids with you, get insurance if you require, although bear in mind £1000+ excesses. Bring a helmet if you have one, even if you are spectating/passenger'ing. If anyone wants a ride in the gold thing then please let me know, I'm no track day expert but it might still be fun. Edd

I haven't seen mine for 6 months, better check its still there!

ORIGINAL: 944Turbo Thanks Paul, and at least mine changes its own oil through a couple of hundred track laps ;)
Mine doesn't seem to need quite that distance. This is obviously a special feature developed by Porsche. Certainly my oil doesn't seem to stay in place long enough to be anything but clear and golden.

I am feeling quite nervous about the day and I am only spectating - must be the knowledge that I am possibly/probably poised at the top of a slippery slope. Looking forward to seeing (and maybe even riding in) the mythical beasts that grace these pages - Edd's "Golden thing", slodges's RPM Technik bolide and no doubt others..what to look out for??

Our Bedford track day is in 2 weeks. In total we have 31 944's 7 968's and 1 924 booked on track and 2 other Porsche's joining us We also have 13 from this forum who have put their names down to spectate/passenger. (spectating is free, £5 to passenger all day in any car) Thats 54 frontrunner attendees in total In addition 22 have confirmed they wish to eat at Sharnbrook Hotel at 6pm for an informal post track dinner and de-brief. If you wish to be added to the dinner list there are plenty of places please just let me know. Driver signing on is at 07:20 - 08:30am so please make sure you set off to arrive within these times, driver briefing is at 08:30am, if you wish to travel up the day before some of us are convening at the Queens Head Hotel in Milton Ernest 5 miles from the track on the 24th March for a pre track social. Please have a read of Javelin's [link=http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=69]frequently asked questions[/link] if you have not done so already. All drivers AND passengers will require a helmet and covered arms and legs, so no shorts or t-shirts. Helmets can be hired, bring one if you have one, others may have one to borrow. Don't forget your driving licence. If you have any questions or think I've missed anything out please let me know. Looking forward to seeing you all on the 25th, it should be a good day! Edd

It's a great turnout - can't wait! I don't think the 924 is actually a 924 & may be as quick as anything. I think it's Lali's old 924S with CGT bodykit and 968 running gear.

Do you know, that's what I'm dreading, all these really quick cars - all they do is make you want to spend more!! I suspect that I'm going to come away from this trackday with yet another shopping list... [:D]
