Track Days

I've arranged an hour of instruction (3 x 20min sessions) with Gary Marsh (http://www.aneed4speed.co.uk/index.html). Did a track day at Castle Combe today to whet my appetite for Bedford - weather was a bit iffy, especially after lunch, but the car behaved itself perfectly and felt surprisingly good in the wet on the R888s (not that it will rain on Mon 20th....) Mick

Colin Jebson of Javelin is aware that there may be other instructors offering their services during our track day. Regarding this he states (we discussed Phil Brough and another instructor I did not know the name of) 'So long as your guys realise that he and whoever the other one is have no involvement with Javelin or the days operation then “employing” them has to be at their own risk. Personally I would be asking what public liability insurance they are carrying for the work they are doing as they will not actually be employed by the TDO on the day' FYI Edd

Hi, I'm new to 944 ownership and have never been to a track day before. I was planning to spectate at your track day to get a feel for it, but on visiting the Bedford site they say no spectators.

I have spectated a number of times at Bedford. I suggest you tell them you're a passenger and come along. Plenty (including myself) will offer passenger laps. Cheers Mick

Hopefully all the crud weather will just be this week. We should be able to get some forecasts in the next couple of days......not that they mean anything one way or another. Would be nice to think it might be sunny though.

A little rain isn't going to be an issue, a downpour probably will. A mildish day with the odd shower is probably likely this time of year, and what I am expecting, a damp and drying track can be fun too. Edd

Think you've covered it all. Oh no what about locusts? Looking forward to it! Booked 2 x instructor sessions. 3 for £50 seems to have gone though.

booked a lesson with javelin as well, also paid the extra for the difference in the days at the same time

yes, that's what I thought but when he was taking the payment for the instructor he called back and asked if I wanted to pay the additional for the day swap, job done.

Rumour has it that Bedford will be hit by a tsunami on Monday. There's also some concern that the super-volcano under Luton is about to go up and do several billions worth of civic improvements....

The way the weather is currently that wouldn't be a surprise. I'm giving up on hopes of sunshine, just dry would be nice.
