Anyone got any other track days booked this year? I'm at Donington 4th Aug and I'm starting to look at Sept to Nov track days - anyone got anything booked? Personally I like Snetterton 300 and have noted Thurs 5th Sept and Fri 13th Sept as possible dates with MSV (£199 each). Is Friday 13th a good day for a track day?? [8|] Mon 4th Nov with Opentrack @ Snetterton is another possibility (£149) Cheers Mick

2 x more 944 Turbos at Donington on the 4th - Clive Wareham and I... So long as I get my wheel bearing fixed!

I'm hoping to do Bedford on 27th July (Javelin) but my car is currently at the doctor getting a new head gasket fitted. Head is currently away being machined but hoping to get it back end of this week/early next. Assuming I can then find out why my brakes were so dire last time I will get it booked up.
not yet I did notice that gold track have some silverstone evenings this year (despite reading somewhere there were not going to be any) usually a good event. I am too busy with other stuff at the moment though. TonyORIGINAL: Masher Anyone got any other track days booked this year? Paul, could this thread please remain a sticky for those want to post details of 944 related upcoming trackdays? Seems this is what people are doing anyway... Edd
A bit of video of the now improved 944 (new suspension and revised intercooler) at the annual Porsche track day at Donington 2013. Car sorted... next driver training! Hi Mike, Good to see you there and thanks for the inadvertent footage of my silver GT3! Your car looks and goes great now, very planted indeed. Hope to see you on track again soon. P.S - I was at Donnington with Gary Marsh from A Need for Speed. Highly recommended for driver training. Cheers Simon
Good to see you too. I had great fun and was impressed with the upgrades - makes it a really nice track car with good manners and a decent bit of warning if it does start to let go. Now I'm feeling like I have a car I'm happy with, I'll be looking for some training. 1 on 1 for a full day seems a little too intense for me right now but I'll probably share an instructor with someone for the day in the future. Gary seemed like a decent bloke and comes with a good reputation. Cheers MickORIGINAL: slodge Hi Mike, Good to see you there and thanks for the inadvertent footage of my silver GT3! This is brilliant to watch thanks. Gives a real feeling of being there in a 944.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to make! Cheers, MickORIGINAL: Martin Sage This is brilliant to watch thanks. Gives a real feeling of being there in a 944.
Snetterton on 13th Sept is now booked. I have been keen to revisit Snetterton after enjoying it so much last year... Until doing a multiple pirouette at 70 mph on the first corner in my 964 the last time I drove it... When the back end comes round on you in one of those you know about it! Looking forward to putting 'big blue' through it's paces there and benefiting from the power and stability. Clearly it would be good to hook up with any other forum members who fancy doing this day too. Cheers Mick
A bit of video of me getting some much needed instruction from Martin Byford [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r6wqDDW5wg]Snetterton 2013[/link] Car felt really planted and the famous 944 handling is giving so much grip and confidence. There is plenty of room for improvement (my driving) but just loving this car on track [][][] Cheers Mick

Nice! I liked his instruction about the turn where you had to wait for the apex come to you. Little things like that make so much difference. That's true, although it's about when I'm free to attend more! Fwiw - the worst trackday etiquette I've seen recently was on the PCGB day at Croft. The guy's response was "my car is faster than yours" - my come back was "not with you driving it and not in anything that resembles a corner either"ORIGINAL: Melv Yeh and mixing it with anybody who can afford it[&:] -it ain't just about the cost.....[]
