[:D][:D][:D][:D] Cheeky so and so, have you seen my thread on non running, Garage Queens by default at the moment. along with the black car not running the 220 has decided to start leaking coolant, a session at Mr Moores very large garage at his house this weekend will see the problem with a view to a fix.

Gone past the lying on the driveway in the wind and rain buggering about with cars, garage at home is too narrow to be comfortable working on the car plus there will be coolant all over the floor [:mad:]

My excuse is that you appreciate them more when you do get to drive them, one of them will end up at the Classic Le Mans this year.....................again [;)]
 
Etyres have a decent selection, and some savings.

Continental is the only "premium" one they do in both sizes, but mid-range they have Falkens, Kumho, Maxxis etc. in both.

Don't go for the budget ranges....
 
After taking a look at those tyres I have to say that your choice looks limited!

Out of the available choices I would personally go with either the Falken ZE912s or the ContiPremiumContacts.

Kumhos I have found so so in all honesty, not bad but not great. I was never that thrilled with the KU31s on the my S2 and I felt that I threw away £180 on a pair of KH31s on the Mondeo V6 I owned where Michelins and Goodyears were better VFM in near enough every way (grip and wear (10k vs 20k+)). The KH17s were not too bad when I tried them it has to be said but that was also on a Volvo 740...

Is there much difference in handling if I change to all 215/15/60? If I go with the option I'll probably get goodyears
 
I don't think you will notice the difference unless you drive on the limit or track your car. In theory, all other suspension things being unchanged, slightly wider fronts should reduce understeer. The handling characteristics will be as Porsche intended from the factory with 215's all round.

Probably not much at all, it may potentially improve things with a few peeps on here saying that even sizes all round seem to suit a 944 :).
 
I'd agree with Chas about the Kumhos: we had a pair on a car and they were noisy on the motorway, had less grip than the usual Continentals, and didn't last as long. Not really all that great! [&:]

Falkens are fine on mine, and I'd go for them again. Also had Toyos and they were good.
 
if you go to 195/65s all round you get a much bigger choice. theyre still standard (porsche recommended) fitting for 7J 15" teles.

I've got dunlop bluresponse on mine, previously had dunlop fastresponse. good wet and dry grip and were less that £50 a corner from blackcircles.

205 or 215 seem rarer and more expensive for questionable benefit.
 
I also went for 195/65/15 on my Lux as there was a wider choice and cheaper and I put Dunlop blue response tyres on mine as well.
 
Thank you for all your replies I'm going to go with 215/60/15 all around as the thinner wheals don't appeal to me looks wise, I like the wider meaner looking wheels

A quick scan on ebay shows Falken, Michelin, Conti, Kumho and others in your sizes for a lot less.
 
I've seen Conti SportContact and Toyo T1R available in both sizes. All the others I can only see in either front or rear size.
