Went out for lunch today and something caught my eye

Hi Tom,

Congratulations - what a super car and it will be great to see it in person at some stage soon. It looks like a fantastic car with a great spec - lots of grunt and PCCBs, what's not to like??

Anyway I bet you can't wait to pick it up - enjoy it when you do and I'll see you soon, John

John

A bit like your animal then, just a bit slower and a bit more refined[:D]

Looking forward to run outs with it as soon as I have it

Thanks for the kind words

Congratulations - very nice indeed! I love the colour, especially with the 2-tone seats in the S.

Drove one at Silverstone on 3rd June and it really was very impressive. Drove it back to back with a 2WD GTS and whilst it lacked a little of the 'delicacy' of the GTS, IMHO, it was nevertheless a very impressive machine. Absolutely no quibbling with its performance or grip. You will enjoy it very much.

Thanks for the feedback, am suffering from "can't wait to drive it" syndrome

Patience dear boy! I had to wait 3 months between making the decision and getting my mitts on it. Delight in the anticipation...........[:)]

Yep

Your right I'vjust been toying with buying one since the Gen 2 came out, and then I came across and almost perfect spec - The Ice Queen will be mine......

Just back from LM and seen this - looks superb Tom, the colour is better in the flesh IMO, Clive's really glows in the sunshine. Must have been a wrench to see the Beast v1 go, hopefully to a good home.

Am getting quite uncomfortable seeing all this new kit arriving on the forum and having a gaping hole in the garage. Tells self, must hold on for the new one, must hold on for the new one...

I spec'ed a white Turbo S with aerokit the other day - a veritable bargain at £132k. The GT3 RS is about the same price these days too. Simply mental how quickly the prices have gone up in the last couple of years. So not only are we fighting depreciation on used models, but appreciation on the new ones too - double whammy!!

Be interesting to see how much the 991 models increase in price when they come out soon.

Great choice, have done 4000 miles in my turbo s now and its amazing how quickly it goes and stops, very diffucult not to use both aspects very enthusiastically though!

Yep

The costs have gone up but they are some car and a half

The Beast went yesterday, still sad as it was just hillariously fun to drive and blummin quick for a normally aspirated car, despite my slim sylph like frame.

Paid my debts today so the new car is almost mine - pick it up Monday evening

Looking forward to lots of fun driving - more realxed motorway miles and more outright nutty accelreation.

I picked out some numbers from a magazine who figured the Turbo S

0-60 2.9s
0-100 6.6s
0-120 9.5s (thats the 0-100 for a GTS)
0-130 11.5s (0-60 for a slightly slow hatchback)
0-160 18.5s

0-100-0 incl reaction time 11.5s

Clearly the frsit 2 are only relevant for UK roads but the rest bodes well for the autobahn later this year.

Attached is a picci to keep me happy until it arrives.

So to keep my mind off the wait the actual spec for the car

  • Turbo S Coupe
  • 19" RS Spyder Wheels with centre lock
  • 7 Speed PDK
  • Adaptive sports seats with driver memory
  • Aluminium II handbreak lever
  • Door Entry Guards in Stainless Steel
  • Exterior Package Painted
  • Leather interior package in two tone combination
  • Lid of storage bin with Porsche Crest
  • PDK selector wth leather surround
  • Park Assist
  • Rear Wiper
  • Silver Grey Seat belts
  • Telephone module
  • Universal Audio Interface
  • Wing Mirror Alu :eek:ok Opaque

Just waiting for tomorrow then........[]

Congratulations Tom. In my view the current Turbo S is the best road car in the real world. Not much is going past you if you are trying. As for upgrades well Porsche has already done the remapping for you but I am sure a trip to CG will pay dividends. I hope you have lots of fun in her

Hi Tom

Lovely looking car but did you see the even rarer Porsche Classic Sport behind yours it may have been a better Porsche to go for other than the Turbo S but enjoy it when you take delivery & I think the Light Blue is the best colour in the Turbo S Range.

Yours Truly Kevin.

I suspect that these figures

0-60 2.9s
0-100 6.6s
0-120 9.5s (thats the 0-100 for a GTS)
0-130 11.5s (0-60 for a slightly slow hatchback)

from one of Tom's earlier posts might have something to do with the choice![:D]

Oh yes, I had a long hard look BUT my cars live a hard life and are exepcted to be able to do long journy's for work and not often cleaned etc. I also do about 10k miles a year. That would have been criminal for the sports classic - its destined for a climate controlled garage and 100 miles a year until its worth far more than was paid for it......

As per TS's coomments - the other other decsion was to quote Clarkson "Poooweeeeerrrrrrr" or near Veyron matching acceleration up to about 140mph.

Now in proud posession of said "Beauty and Beast" after a lovelly drive home in the rain[&:]
