ORIGINAL: andy watson Well not Spa! But just got details of Silverstone track day taster so I am thinking about doing that to be honest though not sure which one to take, the 44 or M3.
Let me know when you are doing Silverstone as I may come with you...
Edd, It is on Monday 1st October, can you get the day off? I will email you the details
I am off then, let me know what and when and how much, etc and I will see. Maybe we could get a few more? Edd

ORIGINAL: DavidL Had the car MOTed and serviced at Promax. Only advisory - exhaust is a bit loud [8D] Bigs girls blouse if you ask me. Also acquired a LR super 61 turbo - I'm determined to blow the engine up! 244K on the clock.
Good luck David! My DPW was the final straw for my head gasket, it somehow managed to take the turbo down with it which was not in the script. Anyway gave me an excuse to get the turbo rebuilt with a larger cold side and strip the engine down. Bottom end needed rings as they were out of spec at 116k miles, also done the big ends as pistons were out but they were fine and top end has had a full refresh inc new valve guides, machine valve faces and seats, stem seals, fix a knackered thread and a right good clean up. Alasdair is just about ready to torque down the head but the turbo is still with the re-builders, hopefully back v soon. Stuart

ORIGINAL: Hairyarse Thanks Colin, Mark. I'm not sure if it's too rare a colour though to claim its the fastest? [:D] Incidentally one other I was keen to look at was this one; http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/porsche-944-turbo-s-1989-250-bhp-guards-red-2-owners-excellent-condition-bargain/104512319 The guys moving overseas shortly so it needs to go. I've not viewed it but from correspondance with him it seems well worth a look. Maybe a bargain for someone? He's located in the Norwich area Cheers Andy
Looks like someone got a bargain/may make a large profit! Link is dead but here's the car I nearly went to see in Norwich area, was advertised on Gumtree for £3950. http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page/176908/1989-porsche-944/?utm_source=classic_email_alerts&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=classic_cars_for_sale Still getting email alerts for Turbo's on classiccarsforsale.co.uk and this came up today!

01508 dialling code, its not far from where I live then, typical a red/black combo was my first choice and there was one nearly on my door step.

After a busy month of travelling to and from the usa with work I finally got to drive the 944 today. It got a damn good thrashing! The other half was almost green after one roundabout that I particularly enjoyed!

Had a nice trip to Trafford centre then Blackpool illuminations then back to bidulph then home to Macclesfield in the turbo

Tidy job [;)]

New Mot for the S2. Received new koni's to the front - will get that front lowered abit now. Overall, not a cheap Mot but last year it cost the ticket price only so no grumbles....

Fitted K & N and some new OEM hose clips to the Turbo S today, got a package containing an AEM Digital boost gauge, weekend job.

fitted new hatch latches and new rubbers.Has anyone ever fitted new rubbers in the holes in the back panel before? I now hate these rubbers as they would not sit nice and took alot of swearing and shouting to get them in. But now you press the button and the hatch opens. JUST LIKE MAGIC............................. this is the first time I have got a 924/944 to do that. Then fitted rear spoiler under the bumper and started to re wire the mirrors ready for fitting. Also painted newly refurbed rear calipers and my cam cover. Only got brakes to fit now and a few hundred other jobs to do until it's finnished. Every time I finnish a list I get a new one to do..........................................

Had a lesson in my red turbo on the Silverstone GP circuit with an RMA instructor checking my position and lines, pounded around in my 968 for rest of day and now need new discs and pads in the 968....argh![] Wafting home on a Wave of boost in the turbo, AC on and radio blaring over the burble was an end to a good day.[:)] After a couple of gentle track days in quick succession she deffo feels happier, and I swear she spools up quicker....?

well you know you have to use them mark..[:D] I've just removed the rear shocks to check the settings out with kw before my trip to spa. also fitted pf97 front pads and put the 1155s on the back the lower shock bolts were very tight, so I bought myself a new toy...an electric impact wrench. what a revalation! I can't believe I've wasted so much effort and time over the years on horrible rusty / seized bolts.. it's only a cheap one £55 delivered from clas ohlsen but I'm sure it will do for the limited use I will make of it. 420nm torque, so should be a match for most things.

I know, but they work so well! And they are relatively cheap for the s2 at £90 per set. it's not just the wheels though, the whole side of the car feels rough after a year of pf97 brake dust.. fortunately it does come off with a clay bar. my first trip to spa - everyone who goes says it is epic..I can't wait [:D]
