what did you do to your 944 today

Did you fit a 944 crest or a 968's? The 944 crest is held by two nuts, meaning "people" interested in stealing may damage the front panel by trying to pull it off, while the 968 crest just pushes and holds thanks to rubber around the pins - no need to remove the panel to take it off.

I've fitted the one where it is held in by the rubber grommets around the pins so can be removed without taking the panel off. Hopefully the car won't be near any scumbags who would want to try to take the badge off []

Before I could get stuck into replacing the interior I had to remove not 1 but 2 alarms! The immobiliser part of one is still wired into the bottom of the fusebox and I've got an auto electrician coming next week to sort it. This is what I've removed so far:

The number of wires that only needed to be 50cm long but were a good 4-5 times as long as they needed to be and were just bundled up was unbelievable. No wonder the glovebox wouldn't shut properly!!!

Get in, called to cancel the auto electrician. Very satisfied when I remade the right connections and she started up first time. Have also booked an interior trimmer to come and measure up to carpet the rear seat area. The thought of £300+ on a CS rear seat delete fills me with dread - plus it would obscure my harness attachment points.

gave the front suspension a quick paint up and fitted new front anti roll bar bushes and ball joints cant wait to see the difference.

Drove it like I stole it, great 135 mile round trip to Fort William and back to collect grandaughter. Woops of delight from the back over the crests and dips. Also drove my White S2 to my mates just south of Fort William on Friday evening, may be the cars last drive. Not used it since getting blue one in October. Strange how to identical cars can feel so different, White one softer and more like a grand tourer blue one feels sharper and more nervous, anyone else got 2 S2 and feel they differ in the way they drive? Did make a prat of myself as car wouldnt start first thing so took battery out to charge, shut boot then when went to refit realised cant open boot with no power , opps

Re made all the brake pipes as I have decided to remove the abs system. I felt that it was more bother than it was worth.I'll keep all the bits and re-install it at a later date or fit a more modern version.

I done printed, and fitted, a GoPro mounting. I actually did two and some clips for the boot cover. I'm loving my 3D printer (now).

Cracked out the Tesa tape and made a wiring loom so I can put the window switches in the centre console.
