Its a momo Cavallino which is a period steering wheel and no longer made by Momo. Mine is dated 1990 on the rear, I picked it up as new old stock from a German vendor on ebay.de for £30. Its like new. It also came with a centre bit that fits around the horn but I prefer it without. I used to have the momo prototipo which although a nice wheel its smaller and thinner, the Cavallino is 360mm in diameter, the same as the Porsche lozenge I think.

Didn't do anything to the car itself but fixed some nice closed cell foam sheets to the garage walls in case any passengers over overenthusiasticly open a door and it allows me to leave the doors open and resting open if im doing anything inside the car and not have to cover it with a jacket or what ever :)

I've been wantin to do this for some time. Where did you buy the foam from?

The foam was a freebie stuff (5ft x 2ft x 1.5inch thick brilliant cut in half n mounted), I happened to mention to someone what I was wanting to do and they appeared the other day with some stuff they had lying about they wern't using, sorry mate. Cant even remember the company that my mates use to buy closed cell foam from for kayaks, if I can remember it and they sell it, I shall post it up for you. Remembered the site all they sell is 10mm thick strips, and looked up the foam Ive been given and its like £50 which I didnt realise it was so pricey

Continued cleaning ... Too cold to lay underneath so I started in the engine bay, need to find a second cam cover that I can get painted or powder coated and find the right shade.

Ruddy, looking for concourse trophy's this year, mind you it has a stone chip on the badge panel now.........points off !

I've decided to change my yellow dash for original black parts. Looked on Ebay for second hand stuff. Then called OPC Exeter to find brand new bits were half the price of the Ebay tat. Which was nice. Seeing how mint the interior of Edd's car looked in the pictures above has made me want to renew plenty of the parts inside my car. Should be getting some new switches (such as the air-con controls) next week. Hope to get it all fitted, along with the new clock, in time for the Bedford track day.

Can't say this too often. Putting it in the faqs doesn't seem to be enough! Whatever you need, call Porsche first. Then, at least you have a guide price, even if it's unavailable or silly money. Then, try the specialist suppliers, T911 will always give you the best options, and even sent me to ebay for the stone guards as they were as good, but cheaper, than he could supply. Then, try the breakers in the faqs such as Elliot at Porkaparts. Also, check the "alternative parts" faq, and any more options there are always gratefully received. If none of these gets you what you need at a reasonable price, only then should you risk ebay. Too many people are sucked in by the "Porsche parts are expensive" myth, and assume that every ebay seller is doing them a favour. [&o]

Sorry Steve - I've not taken any pictures recently. But the engine bay looks a bit better after some bead blasting and various new bits (header tank, radiator etc). It's actually at the bodyshop as I type for the sills to be tidied and wax-oiled internally. Having sorted out the mechanical side of things (he says!!!), the plan now is to get lots of little cosmetic jobs completed in time for the Bedford track meet. I'll be mighty peeved if it rains the day of Bedford (or day before when I travel up). Nothing to do with grip and lap times, more to do with me not wanting it to get dirty.

True - I wanted a CDR-22 for my Boxster to replace the modern and completely out of place Parrot unit - £100-150 on ebay, £50 from PH sportscars [:D]

It might be worth leaving that until after Bedford. One tends to pick up a myriad of stonechips and molten bits of rubber/ brakedust after a trackday
