Busy busy busy The rear end is all back together except for the exhaust.

oh yes - Jim Clark esses were my favourite bit - and no worries on noise with a nice quite turbo [:D]

I've got a Gopro 3 on a roll cage mount hard wired in so I'll get some (hopefully not too dodgy) footage too ;)

Seems v healthy. What boost are you running, the full 1.2 bar?

Yup, although it peaks just over 1.2bar but the drops straight back down. This is boost (solid line - left axis) against AFR (dashed line - right axis):

Today I took mine for a quick blast to blow off the cobwebbs and give the brakes a good workout before heading for it's MOT. Passed with one advisory for poor handbrake performance. I'll tax it tomorrow, then I'll get the belts done when Alasdair gets back from Holiday. Alan.

Had an awesome day at Croft, car went really well with only a couple of issues. Managed to lock up under braking a couple of times, ABS pump self-checks ok so I need to check the sensors. This only happened when I braked too late and too hard, something which a bit of instruction stopped me doing. Related to this (possibly, lol) is the fact that my front pads are shot - before I go for stock replacements from FrazerPart has anyone got any other suggestions for fast road with a bit of trackday action 2-3 times per year?

My requirements were the same as yours when I needed to replace my pads earlier this year. Not the cheapest option but I opted for Ferodo DS2500 all round. (I haven't had a chance to attend a track day with them yet though.)

In my red turbo I run Pagid RS29s,they work fine on the road little dust occasional squeal,on the track they are EPIC it's what I run in my race car. Yesterday I drove my Black turbo up to Donno, drive home was lovely as I was tired from racing and it was all comfy and soft, listened to some music on the way home with the sunroof open-was lovely.

Mark your getting squidy and luvvy with 944's there ! [:D] Took the 220 down to Tatton Park classic show with the TIPEC peeps, 300 mile round trip and she was solid, it definitely likes 3 figure speeds on the M Way so settled and smooth. Took the family for once and they all enjoyed it, actually asked to go again, they are not normally into car shows, but there was a funfair and lots of various stalls so that kept them interested. Washed and dried and put back in the garage.........................Lovely day in the old Porsche !

Decided to sort out the under bonnet light. Took the bulb holder to bits and cleaned up all the contacts but still didn't work. Checked the wiring and discovered two breaks in the wire where it bends when you close the bonnet. Repaired the wire and now works as it should.

This is something on my list to sort as it annoys me that it doesn't work. Though i do have a question hope you can answer. Do the cars sidelights need to be on for the bulb to work or should it automatically come on when the bonnet is up? Cheers

Hi Will, Yes, the sidelights have to be on and then the light works when you open the bonnet. Also works if you have the offside parking lights on i.e. the indicator stalk up, but not down.

Ideal thought that was the case but thought best to double check. Thank-you

ORIGINAL: 944 man Mintex (either 1144 or 1155) or Performance Friction, if you can stand the dust.
Agreed - Camskill are quite cheap for Mintex for the standard turbo/S2, although I'm not so sure on the medium blacks PF pads for the medium blacks are very expensive - well over £200. I wouldn't use them on a freshly sprayed road car that will see occasional trackdays because of the potential for damage to wheels and paint. Unless you really really like using a clay bar every couple of weeks..

PF 97,great pedal feel, great packaging, bad for your paintwork, bad for your wheels, bad for your abs sensors, bad at stopping really really hard. I insisted on putting them in my racecar in 2010,Kev at EMC shook his head,i nearly overshot the chicane at Oulton- told Kev to put Pagids back in,he looked smug in a "i told you so kind of fashion"[:D] I have a good freind that swears by them so what do i know![:D]

Good for both patterns Ed, but theyre made to measure and theres a lead time of at least a month, which they dont tell you about until after you have paid. []
