what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: Veerzigzag
What note did you put on yours as they reckon the mildsport note is the best?
Well, I am an old git so at my age all rules are advisory and it's time to grow old disgracefully. I asked for "loud", and it is LOUD. Not a lot of obstruction between the combustion chambers and the outside air. They deleted the middle box and put a larger pipe all the way back to a small box at the rear. I love it, but it would not suit all tastes particularly if you do a lot of town driving. You also have to choose the tail pipe; I opted for quite a large angle-cut one with inward roll, as per the pic. They didn't have any oval ones, but it looks OK to me. I should add that immediately after the fitting it passed the MoT OK, and in fact the emissions were down on the previous year; I suspect that the gases are moving so fast they don't register on the test meter.....

Lol love it mate! Though think I will stick with mild and I do do a bit of town driving unfortunately. hope they have it fitted to one of their cars they have at the garage so I can have a sample first. I'm hoping they will have some oval as would like to keep it standard and seen some mounted on the walls though they looked a tad large :/ Nice to hear it went straight through the mot and with better results!

Made my new exhaust and then fitted the drive shafts back on. then drove it about in the yard. First move under it's own steam in 5 years.

Washed, polished, tyre pressures, fluids, etc. Just my case to chuck in tomorrow afternoon then off to Hull for the ferry to do the Nurburgring GP circuit on Weds :)

I got the fans out the bottom but no way the rad would drop so had to remove the crossover piping from the top - a/c might be the difference. Anyway, I have posted a couple of small pics in the main forum under a separate post as an 'intro'..

Took my car to the local Longlife exhaust fitter today and got a new stainless steel de-cat exhaust fitted from just below the manifold back for £320. Sounds lovely pretty much stock noise but with a slightly louder note (though not McDonald's worthy) when the accelerator is given a blip. Thank-you Mike for the recommendation!

I am pretty sure on my S2 I took the rad out via the top. The fans however I did remove from below :). A Turbo car maybe be harder though. Anyway, I drove mine, washed it, and enjoyed it :). Then it was parked up to give it a slightly break from being a daily driver for 2-3 months. That and I really should sort out the Snag, sorry, Stag (some paintwork after a 'friend' scratched it, fitting a working speedo (ZF gearbox does not have a speedo drive unlike the original 'box), and generally getting it tidy)). Then to decide which car to ditch (I really am enjoying 944 ownership for now :)).

Sorted out heater I now have cold air!! Haven't driven it for a few weeks forgot just how nice it is, it just fits like a glove.

How long did it take you to train Jess to push the hatch up with her nose? Well done! [:D]

ORIGINAL: A9XXC Ok Lyn you can come out now :)
Ha ha very good... New struts did the job but wiper delete must have helped Edd, been wanting that to happen for 12 years!! Glenn, told you she was a clever little dog [:D] ProMAX bung and OPC struts = Happy bunny! Can't believe I have waited so long to get this sorted

Removed and dismantled the passenger side electric window switch, as the window would only wind down and not up! It was also not working at all from the driver's side, which I assumed was a different problem. Cleaned all the contacts in the switch, put a trace of grease in it too, and re-assembled and re-fitted. And it worked - and (interestingly) - worked from the driver's side as well. So faults with the passenger side window switch can cause it to stop working from the driver's side as well. Anyway, a clean and some rubbed-down contacts made the window work a LOT quicker. So I took the driver's side switches out as well and did the same to them too ... Oli.

Had a bit of a shit day today, was in a rush wasn't paying 100% attention when reversing and crunched my rear light :( not to bad but new one ordered to replace it already :)

Took it for MOT Saturday, failed on the n/s balljoint, picked up a second hand one from PH and spent an hour fitting it. Very happy and its lost one of its little sounds!

Drove it through the Meon valley! [:)][:)][:)] Just got it back from garage after head disaster. Cleaned the starter motor contacts, new battery and tightened wheel bearings (MOT advisory). Great to have it back! Next up, ball joints (Rennbay) and sort out slack gear linkage.

Fitted new handbrake shoes this morning....what a pain! Who ever thought those retaining springs were a good idea? still, I hope it fixes this... [link]http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=781748&mpage=1&key=&#781748[/link] Although there was plenty of friction material at the top of the shoes, it was pretty much worn away at the bottom end. Only one disc back on so far as I managed to break 2 rusty return springs, but will pick up the replacements when I visit Porsche Leicester in a couple of days to get my m030 suspension kit for the Boxster. I needed a new rear arb and at just under £600 for dampers, springs, arb's and bushes it was too good a bargain to pass up [:D]
