ORIGINAL: awright944 Attempted to remove the old cracked stone guard - just made a awful gooey mess and managed to chip some of the paint as well well
I have a set for sale if you want to replace them.

Fixed my heating....it was on all the time, so I drove home from Rutland with the windows down.. ...it wasn't "the clip" they were both fine - it was the "other clip" [:D] - The clip on the top arm had come loose from the shaft - clipped it back in & all sorted Also re-fitted my passenger seat, ready for Oulton on the 28th.

Stretched its legs since hibernation last July, 130 miles, some quicker than others, got it back in the garage before the odometer rolled onto 68k ...just [:D]

FINALLY managed to source the repair panels needed to restore my car's sills, after months lost whilst I was messed around by Nash Hunter.

No, I didn't (or more specifically, my bodyshop man) want to use Porsche parts because they are crash repair panels, not corrosion repair panels and nearly all of what you pay for (the inner door shut and B pillar base) would not be used. I was promised a set of sill repair panels and rear wing repair panels by Nash Hunter / The Retro Restorer, but he messed us about for ages before finally blocking us on Twitter - hence my advice to avoid dealing with him to anyone who will listen. Ive since found someone who can make me a set, so the restoration can continue.

I see - do you have any photos of the repair panel? Do they retain/cover the jacking point diamond? That is the main reason I want to re-do mine with oe ones, one to be sure the previous repair is adequate internally, but also to retain the diamonds - picky I know, but it bugs me that the repair panels don't generally have them.

Nash Hunter promised diamonds, but he failed to deliver on any promises. These panels don't have them, but I trust the bodyshop man to make a good job of it.

Today ... after attending the PistonHeads meet in Cheddar Gorge, a friend and I managed to de-bodge the headlight washers so that they now work, got the front side repeater working (wiggling the bulb did that) and got the electric windows working again (wiggling the relay did the trick for this). First two were MoT failure points, which now just leaves a little welding and I should get a new ticket [:)]

Spent a very pleasant afternoon in the sun replacing the engine cowl (cleaned and dressed everything underneath too), fitted new interior bulbs to the cabin and boot, fitted a new window switch (works a treat), went for a spin and then stood and admired it in the sunshine for a bit. Spotted that the short braided hose from the brake fluid tank is frayed to bits, and a number of those cable ties around the top of the engine bay are broken too. Spent a fruitless half hour trying to find the cable tie part no in the catalog. Took a pic for Steve@OPC Chester instead. Gave the binman a pained expression when he asked me if it was "the one with the van engine". Tool.

One week today we set off on our annual Dinslaken show trip so thought I best fit my GB badge, magnetic, took all of 10 seconds [:D]

On Sunday I removed the control arm on the drivers side as my ball joint had collapsed. It was what was giving me the strange ride height difference and the sudden increase in negative camber. I also fitted new seals to the air oil separator. I'm hoping this will cure the smoke at high revs.I'm sure the car was sucking oil up the breather during high revs, I'd heard this is made worse by the lack of vacuum cased by old seals on the separator. It was a bit wet with oil down there as well. If it's not this then I'm going to have to do a rebuild of the engine over the winter......... Or pay some one to do it for me.

No it's a total cow to get at. I had to remove the fuel rail and the intake and even then its still a squeeze to get your hands in there. I really hope it solves the problem. If not i think I'll go for a rebuild or maybe a 968 engine etc. Anyone got an S2 or 968 engine lying around ?

Thanks for that Patch234[:)] Never had problems with pics before. Needless to say I replaced the odometer cog, do recommend blowing all the little bits out.
