what did you do to your 944 today

Caused a bit of a kerfuffle last Friday at Blyton Park when the heater control valve came away and dumped all my coolant onto the exhaust. It looked fantastic but was luckily no more than a mild annoyance as I had to be towed back in whilst they shut the track for 20 mins to clean it up. Removed the offending article before lunch, refilled after lunch and had a great afternoon blasting round track as a member on here will testify due to his position in the passenger seat at one point [:D] On track again at Croft tomorrow so I've changed my rear brake pads as they were worn and inspected the fronts (got a spare set on standby but these will be fine for a while yet) as well as all my usual pre-track day checks. Picking up a new heater control valve today from Mercedes as Internet folklore tells me it's practically the same and was £17 instead of Porsche's £60 - I will report back and add it to the alternative parts thread if so :)

Updated the alternate parts thread, £14.30 + VAT instead of £51.81 + VAT [:D][:D][:D]

Nice one Dave, i have just put a new set of coilpacks on the 997 all 6 circa £130 from ECP approximately £250 from OPC genuine OEM Beru, how many other bits are from other cars at a fraction of the price. []

Mine did the same, like a Stanley Steam Engine blowing its boiler [] Replacement similar price to yours, worth shopping around. [:D]

Polished my knob insert It was black but some ham fisted muppet in the bodyshop got in the car with sticky hands and pulled some paint off it.

ok, not today, but yesterday. Drove it up Prescott Hillclimb course several times. Had a blast. Here's my extremely slow first run with added commentary/sound effects/shrieks from she who must be obeyed. https://www.facebook.com/ian.jempson/videos/1092494104110742/ i've decided I want a 427 Cobra. What a wonderful noise!

Just add lightness! Took some bits off in preparation for changing the engine mounts as per Alasdair's method detailed on here. Gives me more opportunity to clean and inspect parts too :)

I meant to say that I had taken the new sills and wing repair panels to the body shop where my Turbo is languishing. The door handle triggers has seized up too. On a more positive note I have bought another set of Fuchs Disc wheels which are still have their original anodised finish, along with another set of 964 D90s. I used to say that you couldn't have too many wheels, but I may have to reconsider that: 15" '86 Telephone Dial set 15" 87> Telephone Dial set 15" 944 Cookie Cutter set 16" Boxster set 16" 993 Winter Cup set 16" Design 90 964 set x2 16" Design 90 944 7" front x2 16" Design 90 8" 16" Fuchs Disc 951 set 16" Fuchs Disc 928 set 17" Compomotive 3pc 7.5" & 9" set 17" 996 Carrera 2 set is too many...

There was a set of still-anodised Discs on eBay earlier. Didn't reach reserve at £127. I resisted bidding as Ive just bought a couple of stopwatches, but I couldn't help emailing the vendor and asking how much he was hoping for... Less of a wheel whore James - more easy for wheels... [:D]

Definitely selling the refurbed 993 Winter ups now - a first for me. Its in danger of becoming a habit as I sold a pair of new/rare old race seats in 2014 and a mint Carrera 3.2l steering wheel last year.
