Hi Andrew thanks for your kind words... they are early offset.. cheers PeteORIGINAL: Hallsy Looking sexy Pete. Are those late offset 16's or early? I have a set of late offset 16's waiting for powder coat, and seeing that pic of yours has me itching to get them done and on. They look so right

yes Porsche certainly got things right with the 86...alas what with costs and new emissions they had to change things to keep in touch with the latest regulations, air bags, ABS etc..still IMHO the teledials of all types do suit the car best, plus I'm not a big fan of fitting 17" or larger, it upsets the cars performance IMHO... PeteORIGINAL: Hallsy I thought the rears did look deeper, but thought your car was later than '86 for some reason. Sadly my tele's won't like quite as good, but almost as good

Thanks Jim...will do when finished...just sorting a few teething issues with fueling under load....we have a number of things( actually quite a lot of possibilities) to check before plugging the laptop in and adding more fuel..will post what we find.. today i popped along to my son's work to give the car a clean, he's working all this weekend till late tonight as he has a TR4 that he's restoring for a customer that needs to be finished ready for tomorrow so I took advantage and used some of his gear...first job was to clean the wheels and then apply the pre-wash foam for cleansing all of the paintworkORIGINAL: Frenchy Regret selling my 86 as it was a good un, Pete car sounds awesome, post up the spec when all done .

Totally agree, have to say a Guards turbo with teledials just looks so class....[8D][8D][8D][8D] Why is a new Porsche so uninspiring by comparison, is it the bling, or lack of character? George 944tThat's one hell of a shiny old girl Peter

Thanks guys...she is pretty...well 'eye of the beholder' and all that... had another good day today...lots of little jobs sorted. clock light working fuel gauge now reading correctly oil pressure gauge now stable instead of being very erratic fixed slight coolant leak on the hose closest to the bleed screw, turned out that one of the jubilee clips was damaged cleaned the wideband O2 sensor which was very bad, the little fan wasn't working due to it being clogged resulting in the system refusing to calibrate properly set the wideband gauge display to increase in brightness when running lean.....the gauge now lights the whole of the inside of the car up when going over 15........ mineral oil now ditched for the expensive stuff...that being Millers CFS 10w50NT and a 400 micron oil filter fitted fuel regulator moved to further away from the exhaust manifold....trying to be extra careful, also wrapped the fuel lines with heat resistant tape, my son is going to order some better suited hosing for extra protection. found that the vac pipe under the throttle body that had been blanked off had been damaged by yours truly when doing up the clamps...fixed now...lol reversed the connections on the APEXI boost control solenoid ( son said this was probably why the car was running rough under load.....he was right.... she goes like a rocket now...still need to test her on the main roads in high gears but need to be careful as she gets up speed very, very fast... set the Apexi at MAP A 1 bar and MAP B 1.3 bar finally received and fitted the last LED's for the side lights. while playing around with the interior i asked my son to reconnect the A/C in the glovebox so i can keep my drinks cool...the tube had come disconnected..while doing this he discovered that the climate control sensor fan wasn't turning...to be honest for all i know it never has...I don't tend to play with the temperature settings. Anyway he took the unit out, split the casing, carefully removing the temp sensor and cleaned the motor. It was covered in black dust, the motor and the sensor were clogged up solid...a good blow through with the air gun and a spray of WD40 while applying power soon had the motor spinning as Porsche intended. The thing is I didn't even know this motor existed...it's probably an unknown for many owners as i think I'm correct in saying that only the 86 model had Climate control, another cost saving for later models having A/C..i stand to be corrected if I have this wrong, sure i read it somewhere... couple of pictures first the mysterious climate control motor after being cleaned...ORIGINAL: George ElliottTotally agree, have to say a Guards turbo with teledials just looks so class....[8D][8D][8D][8D] Why is a new Porsche so uninspiring by comparison, is it the bling, or lack of character? I'll have to disagree with you here, IMO the 88 Turbo S was an improvement over the 220 bhp car.ORIGINAL: PSHyes Porsche certainly got things right with the 86...alas what with costs and new emissions they had to change things to keep in touch with the latest regulations, air bags, ABS etc..still IMHO the teledials of all types do suit the car best, plus I'm not a big fan of fitting 17" or larger, it upsets the cars performance IMHO...
