Today I have replaced a section of seeping fuel return line, done a coolant change and removed the knackered electric aerial ready to fit the new one when it arrives.

Got the fuel line done just in time, as soon as o moved it, it split properly where it had rusted. I expected this so managed to get it all into an awaiting fuel can.

Pulled off the front ARB in preparation for all new bushes and new left inner bracket. Also stripped drivers front hub in preparation for replacement bearings. Found inner break pad on drivers side seized in the caliper too so with a little grind back it'll sit in there nicely. Hopefully all back on the road this week knock and squeal free! [;)]

Nice to see somebody else using 3D print/AM for parts on their car! I've got spacers on the speaker covers that allow old covers to attach to new speakers. Useful tech for those annoying bits you can't get hold of!

About to repair the burnt out cables in the DME wiring loom in a 944s 16v, have sourced the right colour coded cables to replace the burnt out ones, so hopefully I haven't opened up a can of worrms pulling the loom to bits in chasing the damage cables right back to the ECU unit.

Oh yes disconnecting: MAF, inlet manifold and various connectors and hoses too just to get at the loom!

I now have a fire extinguisher too !!

Refitted passenger seat & seatbelt before a trip to Curborough on Thursday

Changed most of the brake fluid.....apart from a stuck bleed screw in nsf inner caliper [] - that'll have to wait

Drivers seat electrics fixed, new clip fitted to seat rod to stop it falling out every time the seat is moved, rear wiper motor fixed so that it now switches off, headlight secured, new DME relay and then collected a new MOT!

I now need a new rear wiper arm (slightly over enthusiastic with the hammer trying to change the blade) and also need a window motor as the passenger side won't open.

If anyone is selling either of these then please drop me a note!

Booked it in for some jobs whilst on hols: 968 caster mounts and subsequent wheel alignment, poly bushes on front arb and front wishbone (front), new bump stops, and replace a noisy wheel bearing ready for the weekend trip to Althorp.

Looking forward to a good amount of mileage even if just on the motorway, will clear 90k tho [:(]

small job today....fitted a new inner gear shift boot....£14 from design911...as you can see the original was a little past it...:)

Got the S2 on the road today. Back to back road test with the 85.5 completed. Jury still out. S2 obviously somewhat more rapid flat out, but feels a little more lardy. A nicer place to be in some ways with the leather linen interior, but White944 just feels more nimble. Ho hum... choices choices.... will just have to drive both for a while.

Pete, have you tried running the car without that inner rubber boot fitted at all? You should try it - the sound is addictive! My inner boot is similarly cracked but I have held off changing it for fear that even less of that lovely noise would be allowed into the car.

Oli.

Did 26 miles on track... Sprinting at curborough. We had four transaxle cars out - ben in his rally car, rich in his turbo with new bilsteins and Matt in his budget 924s.

My 944 is as quick as my boxster, but does need a diff to stop me spinning the inside wheel on the exit of 2nd gear corners.

Oh and Rich was the fastest..[&:]. I had him for most of the day, but he put in some quick runs towards the end. We both got beaten by a fiesta though..

Swapped the main ECU to try and cure an intermittent fault where the car would cut out now and again then run perfect ? quite impressive apparently as told by a couple of my mates following me, when the ignition sorted itself it ignited the unburned fuel resulting in bangs and flames from the exhaust.

Looks like the ECU, need to have a couple of road tests to confirm that this has sorted it.

I will have the old ECU opened up and will be looking for dry joints etc.
