what did you do to your 944 today

ORIGINAL: Fat Albert
ORIGINAL: scam75 Also got a set with trolley jack, 2 axle stands, chocs and padded wheely board thing (for going under car on) for £59, bargain and kept my back nice and dry. Jobs are so much easier with decent equipment and tools on hand. Stuart
I hate to say it, but I bought that set on special offer for £39.99 a couple of months ago, but must agree that having a trolley jack plus other proper tools does make the jobs sooo much easier Drove mine down to Bracknell this morning after over a week spent idle, she felt old and reluctant when I set off, but was eager and buzzing by the time I turned off the M4 110 miles later!
Yes, did set out to find that deal but it was finished and £59 it was. not the end of the world, already had good use out of it as had to go back in to re-tension the alternator belt which was Sunday's job! Stuart

Rather than do something to it, I did something for it...confirmed the cost of going to Gaz Gold coilovers, MO30 rear ARB, geo and corner weighting...comes to £1500 with VAT. So here goes, takin' her in next week.

Pixie, as I've said on TIPEC, you really should give me your car now, its not looking good with the new interior and I'd like to spare you any more pain [:D] [8D]

Interior is looking good, Black on Black with Black centred Fuchs. On an early car ...... can't get better than that. Good work

Thank you all for the comments [:)] I'm really happy with the interior. As for buying it - I took a bit of a leap of faith and bought it from someone breaking a 944 which had a lovely interior and a rotten 944 with a blown head gasket, so I took the interior and a set of cookies. So, if anyone would like a factory original Porsche script sports interior I know where you can find one ;)! Curently, the black car is running on the Fondmetals and the Fuchs are in the shed waiting to be polished with the autosol I bought a few days ago!

All fluids changed oil, brake, coolant, clutch and power steering New power steering & clutch reservoirs Annual service enjoyed the drive to and from the garage even though the weather was lousy, now she is ready for Rutland on Sunday

ORIGINAL: Hairyarse Just went for a 100 mile hard drive, first proper drive it's had.
Did it do anything for the idle problem Andy? Oli.
Nope it's still the same. Most of the time when you dip the clutch revs drop 1-200 below idle speed then bounces straight back up, other times it's a bit worse but not much. It's something that's just there, rather than a problem as such but would be nice to sort it anyway

The ISV on my cab is sticky but it improves with regular use, at the end of the summer it was fine, now its sticky again. I only notice it at tickover though, car revs itself. Tony

First time it happened I gave the ISV a blow with a blunt instrument - it stopped - so reasonably sure that's the problem. Tony

They get gummed up with crud. They can often be cleaned out pretty effectively with some carb spray; take the ISV off the car and spray the carb cleaner in liberally, until it is running out clear. Downside is that it is a fiddle to get the ISV's off - certainly it is a tricky job on an S2. Oli.

When hot mine used to just decide idle at 1200 RPM. I diagnosed it to the TPS (quite easy done). When I put it back together though it never happened again. Was definitely the TPS though.

looking at Andy's S2 it looked like a doddle!!! Try doing one on a turbo!!! It's defo a manifold off job. Andy's paperwork says it was checked but I am not convinced. Would love to have a look at it and also the pipework for vacuum leaks.
