what did you do to your 944 today

I put on the FPR from JamesO, still wouldn't run, so tried to fit the AFM he's let me borrow. Found a pool of petrol in the air box! Glad it didn't back fire........ Running lovely last night - try and start it later!

Fitted my seat that Vaughan repaired (looks perfect now), removed the arm rest, another layer of wax and waxed the wheels. then a quick ride down to Matlock bath for a bag of chips.

Completed fitting the belts and put everything else back on , AFM etc, watching the GP now , 17 laps to go then it's turn the key time! :0 Edit, that's a relief, runs perfectly!

Well it wasn't all done today, but over a long weekend, I've replaced brake pads all round, bled the rear brakes (I'd previously done the fronts), changed the spark plugs and then gave it a good clean (on the outside anyway). Nell

Simkin, we have about 7 cars going to LM Classic, get you self sorted for next time, i did 460 miles in the Turbo S today as i went to TIPEC National Day, never missed a beat, but it was hot in a black car with black interior, no sunroof or aircon, let her stretch her legs on the way home M6 Cumbria and quiet on a Sunday evening a 1 and a 5 was involved, flies are going to take some shifting ! First time i have met a few fellow 944 owners who were frankly dick heads who thought they knew it all, but actually had a first class honours in BS. []

went over to pie-performance and ended up buying new seats for my s2 sports ones in a color i had not seen in a 944 ever tan colored ones

No not really, they do not frequent the forums apparently, one telling some very tall stories, he must have thought i had fell out of a tree, the other was rattling facts off about a particular model ans was oncorrect on most of it and when i attempted to counter his beliefs with real facts he would not have it as he knew best obviously..................Rant Over [:)]

Jim your better off comming up the road and meeting up with like minded pals.especially if your doing the cooking. oh and by the way doing 51 on the motorway is quite safe. lol

Aye Colin, Al must be due another garage day, he has some trims i need to pick up off him, he seems to have been quiet of late, ask me when you see me about what these particular people wer spouting and i will tell you................over a bacon sandwich and a coffee [;)]

Forgot to say, had the day off and took the car to my mates garage, changed N/S wishbone, replaced 2 rear brake pipes (Nice job Mark) changed the oil, and did some cavity waxing and general underneath protection, brought home and washed and dried.

My black 1990 turbo went in for MOT today at Porsche centre Leicester, they are also giving it an oil service and belts.God bless her,if you would have told me I would own the car into my 40s when I bought it originally I would have never believed it.

Apologies for not being clear - I meant that I personally had experienced similar owners and knew how you felt.

Yeh Jim.Must bump Al and get another day sorted while the weather is good.I bring my usual catering pack of bacon.

944 man, one of them told me he had been offered.............wait for it.................. £50k for his special development car, Aye Okay ! the other owner of a Silverose would not have it that my black car is indeed a Turbo S as stated on the logbook along with M578 Special Order Turbo S on the build sheet from Porsche UK along with the correct engine number, he would not also have it that a fair few US Market Silverose cars had sunroofs. But he had had his car for 15 years and by the sound of it did diddly squid research wise []

Yours will have the M758 option on the sticker in the boot, couldnt you show him? I used to try to share what I knew, but people like that put me off.
