Some always have a spare in their glovebox but my advice; and it is only mine is to make yourself a 3-way DME bypass cable as described in [link=http://www.clarks-garage.com]clark's[/link] Just remember it will run your fuel pump continually so remove it when you get to your destination.
 
Had some more parts delivered today, Torco engine assembly lube from Demon Tweeks and a complete set of 0.25 oversize main/rod bearings from Paul at Porsche Reading. Very good service from Porsche, ordered Tuesday, had to come from Germany to Reading and then overnight to me, 3 days, pretty good. Pete
 
ttoday I fitted my new speakers perfect fit :) put on my logos front and back tomorrow new number plates and clear indicatorsand head lights if they arrive on time
 
Fitted my Innovate Motorsport AFR Wideband gauge and ran the wiring for the sensor through the bulkhead, sensor to be fitted tomorrow, applied some Do Do Juice Blue Velvet Wax, cleaned and repainted the rear hubs in grey primer (Factory Look) adjusted the handbrake which is still not brilliant. Off to the Fastlane Carshow at Corbridge Nr Hexham on Sunday with a couple more Porsche (Weather Dependant) Stuck 12 months MOT on the 220 on Tuesday with a couple of mimor advisories which will be sorted.

Jim did you run it through the grommet for the DME harness? I did this an found I had to cut and resolder the wires. I have since found out that another solution is to come up through the gearstick gaiter and feed under the centre console. The processor for mine is shoved in the rats nest behind the wooden foot panel for the DME and KLR.
 
Rob, I managed to run it through the harness that passes through the bulkhead behind the bracket that holds the connectors for the flywheel snsors which is central in the bulkhead (near enough) i used the top left corner no problems. The beauty of the Innovate Motorsport kit is that the processors etc are all in the gauge unit, it even has an digital I/O facility to enable you to plug a laptop into it to interrogate and change settings should you wish it also comes with the software for this. A good bit of kit.................check out Innovate Motorsports website.
 
I have the Innovate LC-1 wideband mate. I think your must be a newer version of mine pictured below in the cubby. It also has all the data logging facilities but also a black plastic box of tricks to run it. What model is yours then?

Good move with the Innovate Jim, a must for modified cars. I guess there's a few places to fit these, one thing though and that regards where Porsche fitted the bung for the 250bhp cars, 220 didn't have one. It's too close to the turbo and much better to fit your own further down the exhaust. I also have the older type with the black box of tricks, mine is positioned in the boot with the bung welded in the tailpipe section on the curved piece running over the torsion bar. You benifit from two things here, more accurate reading and longer sensor life. Regards Pete
 
I thought long and hard on this Pete when I fitted mine two yeras ago. All the advice I was given at the the time and that also agreed with the innovate installation guide said fit as close as possible but after the turbo. I am not disagreeing with what you are saying by any means. In fact fact I have also heard good arguments to fitting further down the exhaust. PS you are exactly correct about the importance of the gauge. I think it has actually saved my engine!!! I also actually moved mine to the other side of the cubby now so that the best view I get is of the AFR gauge and not the boost gauge. I know what boost I make because I decide that. The AFR gives me great live data as long as you know how to read it.
 
I used to have mine in the cubby but that space was needed when I bought the APEXI which btw I highly reccomend, it's a very impressive piece of kit and as important as the innovate when running high boost. It learns from the way you drive and program's the boost accordingly, that is only part of what this electronic wizard does. As for placement of the Innovate and boost gauge, they are now right in my face on the A pillar in a universal 2 pod gauge holder that I modified to fit snugly around the pillar.
 
A few bits and bobs fastened back on after resetting the balance belt timing as it was slightly off. Had a quick shakedown round the block and the car is much perkier and smoother. Need to give her a quick wash in the morning before Fastlane show at Corbridge tomorrow.
 
No more saggy headliner, spent several hours but now it all looks like new again, well chuffed with it. carpet glue FTW!
 
Booked in next week for annual service, belt change (four years is up) and investigate the strange, randomly-occuring vibration. It'll be good to see the new RPM premises at last!
 
Yesterday I took the seat out to work out why it had started moving a bit and discovered that it was sat on a set of the genuine 13mm seat spacers (not the reason it was moving). These have now been removed. Does anyone have a need for the spacers before I stick them on the bay? I've also started the process of restoring the wheels. I had a lot of fun with my shot blaster, orbital sander and lots of wet and dry...but I've achieved very little so far. This is going to take a while!
