what did you do to your 944 today

Ahhh.. model 944's, I have a few sitting on the self somewhere unbuilt, however I did start this one some years back which is still waiting to be finished. Good job it's not finished as I had started to plan out the engine bay to match my own car which was far from standard but now it's going to be even more different. Perhaps once I get the car sorted I'll get back to this model..

Finally got the Turbo off the car (88 Turbo) after about 16 man hours and a load of snapped studs, will get the studs that i snapped off sorted on the turbo downpipe, when finished i will have stripped the rear hubs cleaned handbrake shoes and adjusted them, topped up the gearbox, refilled the coolant, changed the oil, refurbed the injectors, sorted the power steering leak from the reservoir pipe, added some new tinware to the engine, refitted the aqua blasted manifold, touched up the stonechip and cavity waxed brake and fuel lines, fitted new secondary undertray. Busy !

Al, you are a star for advice ! probably do your head in when i phone as i can go on, but your advice is very much appreciated along with your spares supply !! Get a garage day sorteDfor September ( we can do belts) as i wil bring the black charger. RS 6 ?

One of Micks mates has a 3 year old RS6 that had been left in his care for a few weeks while he is away. It got a polish and wax this morning by Mick and I than went for an extended test drive. A complete tool and a half, very understated and a complete Q car. Blindingly fast with the 5.0litre V10 twin turbo setup at 580 bhp! We think it may be chipped as well so probably about 640 possibly. Averaged 9 mpg!!!!

Drove the 944 to work yesterday with the new airbox and standard air filter. It's a little bit quieter now, but actually seems faster! There's a stretch of road near where I live where I acclerate flat out between roundabouts - I was a whole 10mph faster by the end of the strech than I have been before. I'll be getting one of those washable filters next to see if I can get a bit of extra go. [:)]

Just received one of these from a Rennlist classifieds http://www.efi-parts.co.uk/index.php?productID=173 ordered the boost sensor too so will be fully sensored after my trip to Promax next week. Lots of whizzing nos to look at.

Took my 944 up to Alasdair's (sulzeruk) last night for an oil and filter change. Also found a decent pair of bonnet struts on one of his breakers, so fitted those aswell. Alan.
