What did you do with your 996 today?

Nice. Whats the dashcam? It looked quite wobbly, but wasnt sure if that was the roads, or maybe less stable because of the lack of roof? Am looking at one (Nextbase Duo I think after recommendations) so was wondering, ta.

Meant to add, I have a couple of Nextbase dash cams and they are good quality and easy to use. You need to buy a micro sd card in addition and I normally set the sensitivity to low as the bumps and holes tend to register as impacts, which fills up the memory card. Otherwise all good. I have one with no GPS tracker and one with which also records speed and location. I also run a motorola dash cam which is simple and okay and was cheap - again no GPS on that one.

Was looking at dash cams as well. Would be interested to know if the nextbase duo sees ok through the back window? Was looking at the 412 but would consider the duo as well

Picked her back up from RPM yesterday, after MOT and some warranty work. So happy with the remedial things they covered for me under warranty too (washer light came on and off intermittently, despite being full and fuel filler cap had never locked, but I didn't know) but the main thing was the re-build of the starter motor. For those that ever heard it, it never sounded good. Cannot fault the time and work they put in for me, but happy to have her back for the BH weekend :)

Hi all,

Had my OEM mufflers replaced with Designtek supremacy ones at Design911.

The car sounds great now, much improved over the originals and brings a broad smile to my face every time that I'm in it.

HI Gerry

I'm in the process of looking for replacement mufflers , was going for the Dansk super sound but heard of poor quality issues , think il take a look at those of yours , maybe see if they are on youtube .

Mark

Hi Mark

Before I bought the car, RPM replaced the PSE with a Miltek exhaust, and that sounds great. Not sure what you're in the market for

Mark

Hi Mark

Well just a really nice deep sound yet not too load , I'll take a look at yours too , just looking on design 911 as we speak , the designtek is currently on offer at just £520 so I really need to get my order in tomorrow I think . Oh decisions decisions .... So many on the market I wish I could just sample them all in a row then make my choice.

Mark

Hi Mark,

The exhaust has a much deeper sound than the OEM exhaust but isn't as loud as the super sound exhaust.

That said, it makes a great noise at about 3500 rpm on acceleration.

I didn't want something too loud and the supremacy is about right for me.

I'm in Kent if you are near and want to see/hear it before you take the plunge.

I'll see if I can put a sound recording on here.

Gerry

Thank you Gerry that's very good of you , I'm up in Nottingham and very rarely get much time to

venture a far , I'm going to look on Youtube and compare , but if I'm honest yours sounds right up my street . I'l let you know how I get on .

Been down in the 996 for the photo session and then onto the BBQ at Saturdays Pre Porsche at Brands Hatch event yesterday. All good with the car running great and looking well in the sunshine and then the run home on the M25 in the night time - was bit like an old sega mega drive game.. Dodging the gantry cameras to avoid a penalty, watching out for the rogue vehicle changing lane or the motorcycle weaving between the cars at speed. During the day it had been great watching the cars out on the short track especially the Boxsters flying round doing 50 second laps (not quite as quick as the Vw Passats doing high 40's ) The evening was good as well, nice food, a couple of Heineken zeros over dinner along with some great conversation from other members and more formal short interviews from Nick Tandy, Magnus Walker and Richard Attwood. A nice Saturday all in. Thanks Porsche GB.

Whilst you were all enjoying Brands, I went to Blenheim for Purely Porsche. Great turn out, and lots of first for me: Braham 62, Konisegegege or however its spelt, couple of F40s and and F50, that I haven't seen in a while. A fully electric supercar thing, that looks 30 years ahead of its time. Lovely day and lovely setting. Shame my phone died, leaving me with only one of mine, but lots of other peoples! :)

I did the same. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. A great drive up to the main parking area. Great Palace and gardens as well.[attachment=IMG_2307.JPG]

I have just bought an LA Power Bluetooth and music streaming kit off eBay. It is much like the Dension but £120. I was a bit sceptical but it has allowed me to stream music via Bluetooth and also make calls in the Fibre optic system. I am really pleased an it was pretty much plug and play.

Hi Rob

ive been looking at these, did you install next to the cd changer or behind the pcm unit?

Thanks Rob

Regards

Andy
