There was an atricle on the 996 Carerra Fb group by Russell B he quoted this part [link=https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/panel-mount-fixed-resistors/0188087/?fbclid=IwAR2bJEP-SuKxLo_LBTEiYWcC_Jrs5waSXF6jQ3sHom6NA_yEQMhxonUQcXA]https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/panel-mount-fixed-resistors/0188087/?fbclid=IwAR2bJEP-SuKxLo_LBTEiYWcC_Jrs5waSXF6jQ3sHom6NA_yEQMhxonUQcXA[/link]
He said " Heater resistor is an aftermarket unit from RS Components. Snipped the oem resistor off (looked absolutely fine - no cracks or breaks), stripped back the three wires, joined green/white wire with the solid white wire and connected to one end of the resistor and then the solid green wire to the other side of the resistor.
Started engine, put interior fan on, pressed the Air conditioning button and checked both radiator cooling fans came on... All good. " Hope this helps

Have you got their part No or code for that resistor from RS ?
Regards Andy
Thanks, I changed mine for OEM ones about 10 years ago. Just looked at the price I paid which was £49 +vat - discount, the current price is £160 for the 3.4 & £134 that's each!!! for C4s rip off or what.
My only concern would be to advise not to mount them directly onto the plastic body panels as they get so hot. I‘ve seen one guy has fixed his to the old resistor thus using the original mounting clips giving good air flow around it which is far better.
